Pulp - The Park 2011 - without question

Oh now that's a shout.

I'll always remember desperately needing a piss for the first half and then sprinting to the urinals, preceding to empty the tank with a massive fucking grin on my face as they played Like a Friend (for the first time ever I think?). It had been a feature of our Uni playlists at the time and was just one of those brilliant Glasto moments.

None of my mates came to watch them so it was a solo trip, but that just made it all the more memorable. Stood at a urinal in a field at the best festival in the world, watching a secret set from an act as massive as Pulp.

Anyway, I've conjugated on this further and have decided that perhaps Elbow weren't better than Ryan Adams but I was very dunk at the latter and can't remember all of it.

As for The Killers, I'm not really a fan, like a few songs, went to see what it was like and absolutely loved it. Set of the weekend.

Also, Chic? Shite more like.

Yeah i’d put Hot Chip 2015 and LCD 2016 up there but Chic 2013 and Pulp 2011 above them.

I like(d) the Killers but have absolutely no regrets choosing Chic and Barry Gibb over them - was a great afternoon.

I wanted to watch Killers but got there too late and they'd stopped people going into the JP area. Saw NR & Chic and it was superb!

Pity the poor fucker who went to see Shaggy on Sunday afternoon 2017.

That was me. Yeah, wasn’t the best choice, but you know, worth it for domestic harmony. By Sunday, I’ve usually pretty much had my fill of music and choosing, happy just to sit somewhere, have some food while something plays in the background

I think the only 2 acts I stood and watched on Sunday last year were Shaggy and Cassette Boy!

    • Blame it on the side-by-side setup. There are cases where it works well - got a great location in front of the middle screen for Bexter Dury-Big Thief-Little Simz, just had to move about 20 meters each time for a great location. But on most cases it sucks
    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
