So are Fleetwood Mac really still a possibility now they sacked Lynsey? No more u2 or pearl jam rumours? We really are running out of big name headliners now aren't we!

Re: Fleetwood Mac, who’s to say? I would guess the band may be more amenable this time around. I wonder if the fact this is a less authentic version of the band makes them a less attractive option for the Eavii. Having said all that, given the prices charged by Mick Fleetwood for a meet and greet with just him on the band’s tour dates, money is seemingly still a major factor.

It would be nice to think there were other genuine headline contenders out there, at the moment there’s no-one else touring next summer that’s an obvious possibility.

You're on.

Nice. You can chuck a tenner RED's way in roughly 2021 seeing as all The Killers' Christmas songs (which will be in their 40 song set according to some people) were in aid of them. ?

Thinking about it, they might be about when Glasto are putting on that other event. Variety Bazaar or whatever it's called. Already getting very wobbly this bet hahaha.

Cpuld easily see both Coldplay and Muse doing a "not-so-secret-set" like Killers in 2017 if they really wanna play, see no point in them booking them as headliners so quickly, and I also don't see them booking larger subs/other headliners just for the sake of having them play.

Plus Muse on JP would be pretty great make it happen.

I think Coldplay getting Michael on stage the other year and having headlined 4 times now , that was their swan song / goodbye to Glastonbury

Elton is probably going to be the finishing act

Madonna for Friday / sat but God knows the other..

I think cold play could open on other stage.. At least there'll be done and dusted.

I'd personally love to see kate Bush either headline or for the legend slot..

I can't see Coldplay open on other stage tbh if they want to play it then they will headline

I won't get into a big debate about it again, but it does baffle me how sometimes the same people who think the likes of Florence and the Machine could headline again rule out The Killers.

What has kept The Killers from headlining again already? Unless it was the two members that they replaced with lookalikes, I don't see why their chances would be improving.

edit: I don't actually think it impossible that they'll headline again but it's not baffling. I think Florence and the Machine have better chance of returning given the relationship with the festival and stuff.

what odds Michael headlining ? he's been doing warm ups for quite a few years ? whats his repetoire ? happy birthday and my way  ... has he released an album lately ? has he headlined more than coldplay ? a shoe in for the 50th I reckon

Add Can't Help Falling In Love and Suspicious Minds to that

Coldplay won’t play it, they are well aware they have played it too much and don’t want to over play it. Some would say they already have but without new material and so soon it’s very very unlikely. Their last set was the goodbye for now until new material and new stage show.

Chris Martin would probably go and maybe pop up on someone else’s set though, maybe the super group.

I’m going for:

Kate Bush

Taylor Swift

Madonna

gotta be at least one of them ?

Bollox, didn't realise Elton is playing in Switzerland on the Saturday and Sunday of Glasto. Incredibly unlikely he'll open the Pyramid headliners on the Friday I'd have thought, both for the reason that it seems an unlikely Friday headliner, and he won't play 3 nights on the bounce.

Probably more of a reflection of pissed up efesters gambling their money away, but Paul McCartney has been backed into 2/1. With the Cure and AM tied at 6/4.

With so many hovering around the same price. The bookies have no idea and just reacting to what’s placed in front of them.

Have ING no rock bands would make it weak.

Of course bookies have no idea. ...all they want it to pay less out. Macca's your dates do not look very likely for next year. With time difference I believe it's been said by the time he would arrive back to the UK he'd have about a day and an a half/2 days max before headlining if he closed the Sunday. My bet atm is he's asked to play next year.

I don't think The Cure will get a spot either unless it's the Other stage, but I'd like maybe to wrong. I can't see them taking sub at all and for the set length they would want to do it needs to be topping a stage.

Well they headlined on the Sam's Town tour. The next album was too soon, and on the Battle Born tour they were here during a fallow year in 2012, followed by a late June Wembley date in 2013 which would probably have made Glasto less interested. And this time around they have been touring their new album over here during the summer in a fallow year again. So it doesn't seem to me like they've been snubbed at all.

What relationship does Florence have with the festival that The Killers don't? It was their first UK festival headline slot very early into their career, after they subbed in 2005 when their back catalogue was so short that they had to play b sides. And then they played a secret set last year which couldn't have gone down any better.

I'm a diehard fan and I don't really lose any sleep over Mark and Dave not touring. I doubt the majority of a Glastonbury crowd would even notice tbh; Brandon Flowers is The Killers to most people.

    • exactly. give them mordor slot when I have other alternatives, not Wednesday
    • Absolutely love her record, System. Definitely an album that rewards a bit of commitment.   She's right on my must-see list. Hoping she's in the Walled Garden, as I think her sound might be a bit muddy if she's early-ish in Far Out.   Ben
    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
