Somebody's got to put it on here. He definitely deserves it; As an aside, here's an interesting homage;2 points

But they're not paid that much at Glasto. It's a well known fact that Glasto fees are way smaller compared to other festivals: "In 2017, Glasto organiser Emily Eavis previously revealed artists get paid less than 10% of what they are typically paid by other festivals." (Metro) Coldplay were paid only £200,000 for one of their previous headline shows.2 points

If Sziget is announcing on Tuesday they would surely have started teasing the announcement by now? My money is on this coming Thuraday or the following Tuesday at the absolute latest.2 points

F*ckin hell. I've never said they are impossible for Glastonbury. I've mentioned several times Glastonbury and Coachella are different level and we should not compare them to other festivals. Coldplay love Glasto and wouldn't be surprised if Chris Martin was already pitching a tent there and did the show for free (just a joke of course). I swear he's showing up there as a special guest every year. So no, it's not just a matter of money and Coldplay ARE impossible for Sziget. More "gnagnagna blabla" incoming 😉2 points

So here I am ploughing through various names on the announced list and came across these guys. Now for me, with Enigma being one of my all time favourite bands and their first album probably my most listened to album of my life. THESE GUYS JUST KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK !!!! (Or should we say West Holts) Banging. Well looking forward to this 👍👍1 point

I would encourage you to let the Charity Commission know about your experiences, if not for you, but for other people, maybe in the same situation or dare I say even more worse off.1 point

I think IDLES are definitely Friday, they're playing in Italy on Saturday. From what it looks like all the headliners and subs are in order on the poster, but after then it's mixed up a bit.1 point
-
IDLES are Friday as elsewhere on other days. The rest is not definate Fri/St/Sun in order on poster though as if you take out Shania Twain on Pyramid them Michael Kinawuka would be Sunday but he is playing Saturday. There will be some surprises in who is what day which hopefully will help with clashes1 point

Tbf we all saw how many ridiculous cul-de-sacs the "2024 Headliners" thread went down until the announcement finally gave us knowledge.1 point

Saw this on FB. No idea what they are like to volunteer for but thought worth sharing Form here https://forms.zohopublic.eu/theculturecollective/form/Glastonbury2024OnSiteTrafficStaffSignup/formperma/Xy2L_38vfEPKyyYdQ7SWDOeS7wSGeWRh_EijEaigqS8?fbclid=IwAR3Xhc8AEoC9sq7YsfU8axrEtRVOix7l3Y5XyPYKaiVHKnWnXgeaT1sa7RI1 point

It’s fine because they are white it seems. Serious micro-aggressions on display if “violence” is a reason try and slam the SZA booking.1 point

It's not exactly a question of money with Glastonbury. In fact, Glastonbury pays its artists considerably less than other festivals. Simply playing there is something special, and that's why they can get artists who would never do festivals to perform there.1 point

Steve Harley. So sad, a few of his songs mean a lot to me and Mrs c. Memories of times long gone by. Seen him live so many times.1 point

Weather far and way the most important factor. A sunny afternoon with friends and I couldn't give a f**k what's playing. Could be a band I absolutely love playing 200m away, someone I've been looking forward to for months, a tantalising prospect ever since the poster dropped, but cold pints and laughter and I'll stick around.1 point

I've got 17 acts there that I'd have seen myself. My first Glastonbury, I was here there and everywhere.1 point

Oh I’m sad! A have a couple of Cockney Rebel albums, Psychomodo & The Human Menagerie. Goddamn cancer!1 point

Gonna have to stop you right there - the 2008 lineup was awful, jam packed with indie landfill throughout and was a grim vision of how the music scene looked in 2008. Thankfully the 2009 lineup came back swinging and remains one of the better ones in recent years, but that 2008 lineup (and 07 before it), uck, grim times and not at all surprising that it struggled (although obviously the headliners + rained off previous festivals didn’t help).1 point

Okay, so not a musical artist, but self confirmation by Pam Ayres on her website. She was in the Cabaret tent a few years back (and was wonderful). Website shows stage time so perhaps a poetry & words announcement isn't far off.1 point

Multicultural genres like pop, hip hop and R&B? and indie? (Gossip - who’ve got a new album out, and headlined 6music fest last week) I’ve been 10 times and a wide range of genres has been in the ethos of the festival ever since I’ve been going. And I think that’s a good thing Also re: Simz/SZA/gossip - you could say “why is kiwuanuka on the pyramid” or “why are disclosure headlining the other in 2024” or “why are two door cinema club so high up the bill” - there’s these arguments everywhere but it just seems to be the women that get complained about1 point

I find this image interesting. The acts missing are acts that started their live careers playing in grassroots venues. Not sure how it compares to other years but surely it can only be a good thing for acts, venues and future festivals.1 point

I grew up in the country …. f**k the rain and needing to toughen up tbh . Nowt exciting whatsoever about needing a coat and wellies / walking boots whenever you leave the tent . Sunshine means many more people are out and about rather than hiding in tents1 point

I saw James Walsh play in Southsea tonight, and he's playing Victorious. Not a biggie, but he always plays a great gig and draws a big crowd.1 point

The very nature of the words "interesting" and "exciting" and their inherent subjectivity make the assertion that she is DEFINITELY the most interesting and exciting headliner a complete nonsense.1 point
-
It is derogatory, mate. You are calling out Glasto for trying to balance what has been a fairly homogeneous lineup since 1970. Female bands in particular have always been fairly underrepresented and let's not even talked about the music industry treatment of female artists. Yet you seem to be arguing that trying to change this is not good.1 point
-
Clever move to keep this off the poster so that the crowds dont go f**king bananas.1 point

I love the first two days.. it’s all stretching out in front of you and there’s the excitement of reacquainting yourself with the site and seeing what’s new. By the time Friday rolls round I’m already feeling like times slipping away 🙃 I would repeat Wednesday and Thursday a few times before Friday hits ideally!1 point

My thoughts are: - Liam and Stormzy play the same day to attract UK visitors; - Sam Smith seems to be surprisingly big, so they could leave him as a standalone headliner; - Same with Fred, maybe they add Skrillex as second headliner that day; - Martin Garrix always was a standalone headliner at Sziget, no reasons to change it; So there could be two spots left.1 point

And over the last 3 T Days, at least, I think many/most/all of us have had that terrifying feeling. Live every moment, team. This ain't for forever, for any of us. Ben x1 point

I’ve put none, but what I really mean is I’m not intentionally planning on seeing any. I could accidentally end up seeing all of them. Once I’m through those gates all bets are off and all clashfinders torn up.1 point

Faithless are up there as one of my all time favourites but also hold the position of probably my favourite ever gig - Oxegen 2004 (old Irish Festival that thankfully is no more) Faithless were given a midday Sunday main stage slot but there was a rumour going around that they weren’t happy with the low position. However, because they were up against nobody really, pretty much the entire festival was at it (or at least, that’s how it felt). It had been raining most of the morning/afternoon with some pretty heavy showers. Enter Faithless. Maxi walks out, says a few words in his usual cool-as-f**k Maxi way, points to the sky and then bang, God is a DJ. I kid you not, the rain stops, the clouds disappear and the sun begins to beam down on us for the entire gig… It was bliss. Then, maybe 5 minutes after they finished up and the crowd began to disperse, it started to absolutely bucket down again, so heavy people were running for shelter in the tents. God truly was a DJ that day. RIP Maxi, you were one of a kind ✌🏼1 point

Been better of switching those two around. I don't want to miss Faithless but not recognising the Friday other slot is beyond mad for a band who could play 3rd down it.-1 points
