They've blown up due to recent media attention. Very difficult to move artists around within a month of a festival

coachella happened 2 months before. Sorry, lots of time. and they moved Weezer with a month left so youre out of excuses. They legit thought Weezer was the one they had to give space to. It was their choice to book em at Woodsies in the first place.

Given the political pressure they’ve been under regarding this booking, I’m guessing the festival thought it prudent not to inflame things further by giving them a more prominent slot

And having dead air on a bigger stage wouldn’t look good for iPlayer.

BBC reporting that the tiktok live stream (Thank you Helen!) peaked at around 1.1m viewers.

This was absolutely class. Best use of live media I’ve seen in a while. Made me wish I was there and feel like I was!

Hope it is picked up by Kneecap’s social media later as well.

I watched Helens live and it looked like a time! Especially after Bob Vylan!

She got 1.1m likes and over 7k watching

There’s nothing for anyone to be ‘sorry’ for. Like the Sugababes last year, the festival and the bands management know that ‘Band X is so popular they had to close the stage at Glastonbury’ is a cracking headline for the media.

Was it worth it? Not listened to their stuff so was it all about politics rather than music?

It is a bit of a unique taste and I am not the biggest fan of their stuff on record, but watching the livestream it looked like a cracking show, plenty of energy as you'd expect

Later on Saturday, an Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said the force was assessing comments made by Kneecap during their set.

They told the Guardian: “We are aware of the comments made by acts on the West Holts stage at Glastonbury festival this afternoon.

“Video evidence will be assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed that would require a criminal investigation.”

Wtf.  For what that they said?

Somebody reported it, the police are investigating. That’s the way it’s supposed to work…

Do I believe they reported it in good faith? Probably not.

Do I believe the police are super keen to investigate? Probably not, but it’s a high profile situation, so they don’t want to be accused of not doing their job.

Got this on pretty good authority, it was the Beeb who objected against moving Kneecap

Reported what?  What did they say that is even worth investigating?

FFS who gives a sh*t what they said, were they any good? Pathetic investigations by the old bill, they need to focus on the amount of cocaine flying around rather than what some lad in a band has said.

    • It can take around 30-45 mins to walk from the arena back to the transport hub with the crowds, depending on density. Allow even longer in poor conditions. I don't think you'd need to leave Linkin Park early though, you have at least an hour and 20 minutes to walk to transportation. I certainly wouldn't leave early in your shoes, knowing I can just walk to the airport if needs be (2 mile walk and another 30 - 45 min walk depending on your walking speed and conditions.) Maybe just don't linger too long for the toilet / food after Linkin Park have finished.  It will definitely make sense and all just fall into place on the night, don't worry too much and have a great time. The very worst that can happen is a little extra walking to the Airport Skylink bus stop, as those Skylink busses are 100% 24 hour. 🙂  GFS, ICON and ECMWF are ALL in agreement on the latest runs.... After a mildly moist Weds and Thurs, high Pressure building from Friday... Lets just hope they continue to agree... ☀️☀️☀️
