the whole Old Firm thing is so deeply entrenched in sectarianism and depressing, which is ridiculous because theyre basically the same. Two cheeks of the same arse, innit

Yes, one cheek singing about centuries old battles and supporting one group of terrorists, the other cheek singing in support of other terrorists and glorifying in the death of fans in a stadium disaster. Both cheeks now have Ultras, two groups of wee dicks dressed as paramilitaries fighting each other under the leadership of a few politically motivated adults. I don’t think they could find the Middle East on a map if they were given one! Sadly both clubs seem to pander to them.

Kneecaps support for the Palestinians and their right to voice it should not be overshadowed by this.

What a surprise!

I still can't believe this got so much attention, instead of the real issue.

Kneecap will face no further action over Glastonbury performance, say police | Kneecap | The Guardian

Still facing the terrorism charges over the Hezbollah flag etc.

But yeah they didn't do anything naughty at Glastonbury, unlike the naughty Bob Vylan.

Avon and Somerset police said: “An investigation has been carried out into comments about a forthcoming court case made during Kneecap’s performance at Glastonbury festival on Saturday 28 June.

That was the reason?  Seriously.  What is the potential crime that could have been committed?

I wonder who made the complaint?

Yes, but I’m also a humanitarian, an old fashioned socialist who doesn’t give a flying feck what religion someone is and I completely separate football from religion. I only wish more on both sides of the divide would do the same. I’ve really close friends of other religions and none. One thing we all agree on is our horror and disgust at what is happening to the Palestinians. Kneecap deserved to be heard, it’s a pity that other issues prevented this at Transmt.

How does that work legally with freedom of if movement and all that?

I think there's always a very broad "threat to national security" line, which includes supporting terrorism that Schengen countries can apply on their own. I'm fairly certain that any country can ban them if it wants to just based on the flag-waving video.

    • There's one way it can get bigger- if Robert Smith joins her on stage
