Young Fathers rearranged dates for 22-24 January. I’ll be in Sri Lanka! Bollocks!!

Oh FFS. We're not sure if we'll be back by then as we're going on a roadtrip to the Alps. Plan is to be back by the 20th but the point of a road trip is to be able to stop off where we want and not rush back.

Wasn’t there because some genius decided to put Beck up against her.

(Beck smashed it too)

Beck was brilliant... shame the crowd were there for Coldplay.

I fucked off sharpish after Beck, was stopped by a random girl who said "only you and your mate seemed like you enjoyed that as much as us"

He should have headlined the Park

I was right down the front safely in a small pocket of people genuinely enjoying it.

I think it was a question of right act in the wrong slot. He was trying to inject to energy onto a jaded, early Sunday evening crowd and it didn't quite come off. Plus, as you say, a large number were waiting for Apple Martin's Dad and the Boys.

Headlining the Park up against Coldplay would have been preferable. A smaller, more dedicated crowd usually makes for a better set.

You must have been where we were then, had around 20 or so people having a good time but was depressing looking around and seeing people actively ignoring one of the best artists of the last 25 years.

I was literally listening to The Futureheads on Monday thinking if they don't come back soon then they never will. Well happy with that ngl.

Gave my christmas playlist its first outing last night, and Futureheads popped up - was wondering if they were still going. Enjoyed a few of their tunes back in the day.

Christmas Was Better In The 80s! Haven't listened to that in a long time. Good tune.

Most of their albums have a little bit of filler, but there's a mint setlist to be made out of them.

I love their version of Hounds Of Love.

Aye, they did an amazing black eyed peas accapella cover as well at some point. I think it was good anyway, I haven't gone back to it in a while.

I heard Skip To The End the other day and it sounds so weird without the radio dj saying skip to the end at the start like everyone's limiewire version used to have.

Speaking of stuff I used to listen to, Taking Back Sunday have a few 20th anniversary dates in mid/late June. John Peel slot or nah?

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
