While a world with no repeat bookings at all remains out of reach I'd much rather Stevie came back than Mumford and Sons or the Arctic Monkeys.

is the same bloke with a different set a repeat.??

he didnt play...

- maybe your baby
- you are the sunshine of my life
- i believe (when i fall in love)
- He's mistra know it all
- isnt she lovely
- keep on running
- i love every little thing about you
- boogie on reggae woman
- heaven help us all
- yester-me, yester-you, yesterday
- my cherie amour
- lately

Mumford would give his right banjo to pen one of those...

What happened with Prince again? Was he booked and then he decided not to do it?

Also why did the stones get a higher price than anyone for?

I heard he was booked but then pulled out because of the reception that Jay-Z got when he was booked OR it had gotten out that he was playing before it was official so didn't want to do it.  Either way, it was a great loss.

As for The Rolling Stones, I don't know why other than it's The Rolling bloody Stones and can command a higher price (despite not needing it)

Tbh I wouldn't really gave a monkeys if his set was largely identical. It was nearly 10 years ago now.

Exactly this. I was there and had a great time but can’t remember the set list. Maybe miss out the bit where Eavis came on stage though this time

This whole repeat bookings thing can go one of two ways.

You either get Arctic Monkeys or Muse stinking the place out every 5 years.

Or you can have acts like The Chemical Brothers putting on the set of the weekend every time they pop down.

Stevie would be firmly in the rip-it-up camp and 9 years is enough time that you could have a field full of people who weren’t there the first time.

Were has talk of Fleetwood Mac come from? I thought they had been ruled out.

Couple of people claiming to have talked to people in the know etc claiming the third headliners is Fleetwood. Could prove to be bollocks but it’s something to talk about at least!

Talk of two blokes was meant to be Stormzy and McCartney.

So that theory splits in two, either McCartney was pencilled in and has pulled and thus the 'two blokes' is now one bloke and a replacement.

Or Macca was never ever booked and it still holds up with a mystery bloke being still in frame.

Or its Coldplay again under the name Chris Martin who turns up on his own and does a Coldplay acoustic set on his norman.

    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
