As Mr Bragg says "never buy the Sun"

He's right...but I 'd buy the Sun before I'd buy the Daily Mail.

My folks read the Daily Mail for as long as I can remember and I always told them it was full of hate and bile and to read something else.  Then when my old man was close to dying he said to me one day 'I've got some news, we've stopped buying the Daily Mail'.  I asked him why and he leaned in and said 'Cos it's shit'. My mum has never read it since.

Anyway this is a weather thread so you don't need me getting all maudlin.....it's going to rain this year, we might get a bit but we'll all be prepared for it and deal with it.  Then it'll stop and the sun will shine and we'll all have a monster time.

Trust me B)B)B)

Well I'm sort of thinking that if these weather twats at The Scum or any other snooze papers can predict a washout summer or a heatwave  this far in advance then they are either lying  bastards or very much better than all the other weather experts who say you can't predict it. I'm veering towards the former.

Last year's weather was perfect - warm for most of the week with a little bit of rain on the Friday to soften things up and take the edge off the humidity. Crossing my fingers for similar this year.

Same as last year but without the rain

Limited heat, bouts of rain forecast for UK and Ireland

High pressure sitting to the west of Ireland and the U.K. will keep extreme heat at bay and also direct Atlantic depressions between Iceland and the British Isles.

While the center of the depressions will often pass near or north of Scotland, rain will frequent much of the U.K. with the heaviest falls expected in Northern Ireland, western Scotland and northwest England.

"After a wet start to 2016, the unsettled weather will continue into the summer months, which means there could be enhanced localized flooding, especially in areas that are trying to still clean up from the floods in early winter," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.

Frontal boundaries accompanying the depressions will sweep through the U.K. and Ireland, ending any warmth and resulting in seasonable temperatures for much of the summer months.

The frequency of these fronts and a flow off the Atlantic Ocean for much of the summer will result in no extended heat waves for the Isles.

These fronts will also bring occasional thunderstorms with downpours, lightning and small hail.

Or as Jackone would say 'No rain of any significance'

Don't want it to be too hot either. 30+ degrees in a tent is no fun. Waking up at lunchtime dehydrated and hungover in the baking heat, ugh.

No matter what the weather, this is how I always wake up at a festival

Make of this what you will: http://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/672361/Hottest-summer-in-100-years-UK-weather-forecast-2016-heatwave ... But surely Piers wouldn't send little bro to Glasto without his wellies if there was any chance he's gonna need 'em?

[ quote ] Piers Corbyn, forecaster for WeatherAction, said Britain is heading towards a “tremendous dry, warm and sunny flaming June”. He said for most of next month Britain will sizzle under blue skies and scorching sunshine with “heatwave” conditions almost certain. [ end quote ]

2010 was a pretty shocking summer for what its worth, just bloody glorious for 5 days down in the bottom left of the country.

We came so close to having a repeat of 2010's weather in 2014 (I think, could have been 2013)- perfect, sunny weather for weeks on the run up to the festival then, infuriatingly the weather suddenly started breaking down on the wednesday of the festival, then went back to being perfect again from the Sunday or Monday onwards for weeks- it was so very annoying!

Met Office long range forecast is nearly in range:

UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 Jun 2016 to Tuesday 21 Jun 2016:

Currently it looks likely that generally settled conditions will continue through the first half of June, as high pressure remains close to the UK. This should bring a good deal of dry and sunny weather for most, particularly in the northwest, whilst some showery outbreaks, possibly thundery, are still possible in places. High pressure may break down later in the period, bringing more unsettled conditions, with rain or showers and perhaps some stronger winds. Temperatures are favoured to be just above average for most areas, especially in the south and west.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
