This will do, a lots of sun to begin with and a bit of thunder and rain to add to the theatre :)

THIS WILL DO??

Thunderstorms Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Are you sure this will do?

Every time I come into this thread there seems to be someone saying storms are a good thing.

This is the madness that takes over when you don't have lots of data and graphs and pretty colours for people to complain about.

I'll put up with what we have today every day for two weeks if it means Glastonbury is more or less dry.

Lovely day up here in Edinburgh,  would gladly put up with this.

there's no doubting it the rain completely f**ks with my Glastonbury mojo. It's a whole different more laid back affair when the sun is out.

Lots of rain at Glasto? Hell yeah......it'll mean sods staying in their tents, or finding shelter anyway they can.

And I can walk around in full waterproofs and walking boots with less crowds to get in my way as I wonder aimlessly from stage to stage.

Only snag - staying on your feet all day is bloody knackering

Eh? Where did all the thunderstorms go?

While I want it to be mostly hot and dry, I want a little rain (perhaps Sunday evening?). Otherwise I've bought boots and waterproofs for nothing:P

No, unused boots and waterproofs are an offering to the sun god!

What's the rest of May looking like?  I've just posted in the glastocam thread my fear of them doing lots of prep onsite in the wet, so rushed here to see that it's all going to be OK.  June looking great!

That'll do.

Ah, I'm just tormenting myself on this thread, wonder what we'll all be doing in 6 weeks... Do we have any resident experts in these parts? Just gonna try to take everything with a pinch of salt till I'm there but I can't help getting me hopes up...

Obviously there's no way to accurately predict the weather this far out, but I'm very surprised (and a little disappointed) this thread isn't on the front page as it has been for previous festivals.

Surely it's nearly time to talk about jetstreams, Azores fingerings, German frauleins and Phil Jones?

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
