Dave Grohl broken leg

I imagine if they pull out it'll be Florence.

Or, other friends of the festival, Mumford and sons!

Though if Florence ends up headlining, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new more popular guitar based sub than Motörhead automatically ending up there.

Looking at the recent live videos people have posted on here, Motorhead woud be a stretch to nail that sub spot, wouldn't they? (irrelevant to me as I wasn't going to be at FATM or FF anyway, but just asking)

My concern about bumping Flo and Motörhead up is that it'll certainly make other areas of the festival (Hot Chip and SFA especially) much, much busier.

Wasn't it 6000 a few weeks ago? Where's this other 6000 come from?

IIRC there were two gigs at the Zenith, both rescheduled into a single gig a few days later. So many fucked over and some at least significantly inconvenienced for reasons I don't consider morally defensible.

But let's not do all that again! (yes, I know it was me that brought it up!)

:)

So assuming Dave can do it he's got the decision of disappointing fans (who paid extortionate stadium ticket prices!) with a lacklustre show or disappointing fans by cancelling/postponing the shows. Don't envy him for that choice, though personally I'd prefer the latter.

I'd have thought plenty of fans would want him to go ahead with the shows if he could - after all, the fact of him playing with a broken leg would make those shows different and 'special'.

Personally, I suspect he'll want to do the shows, just because having to set them all up again for sometime in the future would mean not being free to accept other shows in the future. They're a band who (like to?0 spend almost every summer on the road, and they've only just taken time out.

It'd be ridiculous - Florence would get the casual fans but there are a lot on the fence and some like me who wouldn't even entertain the idea of Florence. Plus Florence and rudimental will have a similar audience which I doubt crosses over too much with hot chip and sfa!! I'd love to see SFA to be fair.

I don't think Flo would want to be bumped up. I reckon she'd decline, on the basis that when she headlines she's headlining on her own merit and not as a fill-in.

Get QOTSA on it :ninja:

I think its highly likely Pinkpop tomorrow will be cancelled. He's obviously going to be in hospital today and the 'I feel sorry for Pinkpop' think is pretty telling. I'd have thought he'd want to carry on with the rest of the tour after that though.

She may have been happy to sub to a huge band like Foo Fighters who are still bigger than her but if drop out she'd probably rather headline than play before a weaker replacement.

Is Homme free? Get him on board as a second frontman for the Foos shows ;)

Does he need to get medical clearance for insurance purposes or something? Especially in the UK, which is H&S mad. Not that I know anything about this sort of thing, so I'm probably being stupid.....

I think this is a very good point !

He's been drumming for EODM a bit recently I think, but yeah other than that he's free. Shuman is obviously gonna be down on the farm with Mini Mansions, too...

Not gonna happen though :P

Foo Fighters and QOTSA are so much of a muchness that it's a switcheroo so subtle that few folks would notice.

Foo Fighters have nowt on QOTSA

What he wants to do and what he's able to do may be two very different things.

Well yeah, I thought that was a given :P

    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
