When researching acts I would recommend looking for Hör sets - they give a more realistic example of what style they play out in the real world than Boiler Room

Proud Dad JAG - Child 1 curated a Hör set for his collective a couple of months ago! He played first. 🥹

Oh, bollocks! Of course! Apologies, pal!

I had entirely erased that from my pre-pre-pre-list...as I can't stand San Remo 😆. Argh. That KLO set above now has me agonising over my self-imposed, lifetime San Remo ban 🤪

Just drop the line-up, Eavii, FFS!

Ben

No worries at all, impossible to remember every detail of the line up drops!

It's one set that, clashes permitting, I think I'll make an effort to get to. The other being HAAi who is closing San Remo on Friday.

Don’t do it, every time I end up in there I regret it no matter how much I want to see who’s playing. I don’t mind people talking as much as you but I just don’t like the atmosphere, I want to feel the love when I’m dancing and it always just seems a bit agro for my vibe in there.

Every year this topic pops up on this thread, a lack of classic trance and hard trance. Is there a need for an E-Fest trance takeover. Find one of the smaller stages and host a millennial rave one night with a few classic DJs, all the classic tunes, and encourage everyone to dust off their cyber gear and glow sticks and proper ‘ave it!!

This is me every year asking for this 😂. Love that so many people are into the same music and have the same quandary. I used to go clubbing early 2000s, my favourite night being Escape from Samsara at the Fridge ❤️.

Many is the time at Glastonbury a few years ago where I'd be wandering around trying to find music which was 'just right' (and failing).

Since then I've gotten some great tips from this thread. The Ki/Ki into Amelie Lens last year was amazing so am very glad they're both playing this year. Also the Imogen recommendation is ace. Keep 'em coming you wonderful people. X

Fish Octagon has confirmed he’s doing a trance set on the Greenfields stage on his Insta today. It’s not much but it’s a start.

You know what day? He does know some bangers.

I’m pleased for the lad, he’s a decent bloke but it’s a bit odd we only have this all weekend.

Hahaha, you're not wrong. I'm going to try and get in for Avalon Emerson on thursday, haven't been in there since 2017 I think, it looks a bit more open now.

Not sure. He’s on the Greenpeace and Glade posters so doing at least 2 sets but he specifically said his Greenpeace Stage set would be trance after asking his followers what they’d like and so many asked for it.

I’m expecting plenty of classics.

Did anyone see THOG (The House of God) last year?

I think I established that it had nowt to do with House of God, the Brum techno institution, but never managed to find out who they are/what they play.

Ben

Rush Davis i belive this is mate.

He played an extended set last year on the Iicon for about 4 hours after blawan pulled out i think.

Just watching his set from Lost Paradise last year and it’s a right f**king bopfest. Deffo on my list.

Blawan has jibbed out on sets for me on both IICON and Genosys now. He'd better bring his A-game this year!

It keeps getting better

Touts himself as the human Shazam so you’d expect him to bring the tunes. I’ve got high hopes for a classic trance set this year, hopefully see some of you there.

I'm pretty sure we didn't! That was the other one he bailed on! We were there in anticipation and the DJ started and we said...I'm pretty sure that's not Blawan! His replacement was good, but it wasn't the man himself.

I'll be there hoping this is exactly what he does

    • First outdoor gig of the season for me last night. David Byrne in a soaking wet St Anne’s Park. Absolutely spectacular (didn’t expect anything less to be fair!). If you get a chance to catch him on this tour, don’t hesitate. At least half the set were Talking Heads classics. Marvellous all round (ok, I’ll let him away with the song about how much he loves his apartment😁).  IMG_1177.dng

    • Don Broco secret set.
    • Regarding PinkPantheress: I watched the ending of The Cure from the back and then bolted straight to Cupra to save spots on the steps for my entire festival crew. Thus, we all had a good experience there. Sucks that not everybody got to properly see it, but it felt like something out of Glastonbury where those who showed up long in advance got to see a big artist on a smaller stage in good conditions.
