Is Glastonbury the best electronic music festival? Just lightning scrolled through the full line up and I’m just overwhelmed by how many acts I’d pay good money to see in a club. Plus how many more must I not already have on my list that I’ll be discovering because of this thread. I’m giddy.

Creamfields edges it for big names, but for sure not the experience.

this thread has never steered me wrong over the years and has helped enhance my late night glasto experience many times. so i come again looking for guidance! My normal taste in electronic music is Moderat (sadly both sets are on at bad times for modeselektor), bicep, barry cant swim, justice, anish kumar, overmono.

so basically nothing too hardcore. any gems midnight onwards you can recommend? many thanks to all your knowledge.

My one and only creamfields was very... OK but I'd say that's more down to youthful overexcitement on my part. I'm probably hyping Glastonbury a little because it's what I know and am currently peeing my pants with excitement about. I'd love to go to Dekmantel and imagine it's one of handful that would definitely compete.

Choices to make after Prodigy on Sunday - Shy FX on Arcadia, Goldie into Sherelle on Glade or Sub Focus on IICON. Probably head to IICON as have seen the others before, but nice to have options.

Fish56Octagon on Saturday night on Greenpeace at headl8ner time is gonna work brilliantly for me too.

I'm surprised there isn't any Giegling takeover this year. They've been doing parties all over the world over the last year and releasing their final VA release pretty soon, looks like they're wrapping up for good. Would have been perfect on the farm for a takeover somewhere.

D&B-tastic on Sunday. Loads of choices (I'd go Goldie, Sherelle, Storm) but the correct answer (especially in this thread) is the Temple!

Fish Octagon has confirmed he’s doing a trance set on the Greenfields stage on his Insta today. It’s not much but it’s a start.

Clashes with Caribou FFS

My only new clashtastrophe is Mathew Jonson (Glade Dome) at the same time as Max Cooper (Arcadia) on Friday.

That’s a bloomin shame, haven’t seen Jonson since off-sonar absolutely years ago and he was excellent

Sorry if this is a dumb question, where am I going to find the best Techno stages at Glastonbury ?

The stages play different stuff on different nights.

Friday the techno is all spread about the place - no single stage stands out

Saturday night i’d say go to Glade and when that closes go to IIcon

Sunday night go to the Temple

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
