  2. I wonder if there's some big batch of names coming this Friday since other festivals (Mad Cool, Roskilde, Open'er, Nos Alive etc.) have already shared a fair amount of their line-ups.

  6. Whilst of course young women are better protected if they are aware of these things there is only so much you can do, if you are going out you are at some risk and that is horrible. It is also why the onus shouldn't be on these young women to be scared and prepared instead the focus has to be on the attitudes and behaviour of young men. So those of you who have sons probably also need to be having conversations about this too. I have both and they are at the moment far too young to have to worry about this sort of thing, but in a decades time I do admit I have no idea how best to go about these conversations but they need to be had.

  7. Announcing an extra day with Spanish headliners, requiring a separate ticket. Teasing the strokes and Springsteen, not announcing any of them. Time limited discount for all ticket holders before the announcement of the full lineup. Classic Mad Cool. Wouldn't be at all surprised if the last headliner on Sunday was Vetusta morla.

  8. Competition to win one of 25 pairs of tickets https://www.secretgardenparty.com/film/ Seems an unusual high number of tickets to give out? Do feel there's something strange going on. Announcing its sold out all over its website and then having numerous raffles does play into the 'private party' approach they may be going for (as someone else mentioned on here) For all we know they may have not sold even half the full capacity, but little ploys like this definitely help foster an exclusive feel and will only encourage others to try and get their hands on these golden tickets!

  10. Greetings 👋 Finally got to make an account after years of following this! With regards to line-up, we know that Kings of Leon and Dua Lipa are definitely in but the lack of communication is ridiculous at this point. If they plan on keeping the line-up very similar to the last Sziget, what's the point of waiting until now without a single reveal?

  11. Ah it’s grand, I’m quite happy with it like this, I signed up for it, so I can’t complain and I’ve less time to procrastinate anyway!

  13. I’m going to guess QOTSA subbing Metallica, which would be a massive coup since they co-headlined in 2018

  14. So cases are way lower than most models and hospitalisations better than even optimistic modelling. But we need more restrictions? Right ok... People need to calm down

  15. I've thought about it and I don't like wearing them, so I won't

  16. We’re at the stage now that there’s a huge shift to personal responsibility not a collective responsibility. With vaccines, boosters, testing etc it’s not solely my responsibility to make sure that everybody else is as protected as they can be. Masks are not as great as they’re made out to be. Masks and social distancing help to reduce spread, social distancing probably taking the lions share of that work but they don’t stop the spread or this would be over by now. Cloth masks for example are utterly pointless, they do next to nothing for both outward and inward protection. If someone has had their vaccines and still feels like their personal risk level is too high then there are extra precautions they can take themselves. It’s not March 2020 any more, proper respirator masks which actually provide real protection are readily available and would be far more beneficial than a shop with 100% mask compliance but 60% of those wearing a cut up T-shirt on their face. Bringing in restrictions again should not sit well with anybody, I didn’t get vaccinated to spend my winter in and out of lockdowns again. I didn’t get vaccinated to carry on wearing masks again and I certainly didn’t get vaccinated to stay home.

  18. Hello all! Newbie here! I have been following this forum for years but never actually participated. Thanks for all the useful insights! Does anybody know if the Rock Village will open its doors at RW 2022? They have been awfully quiet in social media and their website for a long time now...

  22. Should have done what I said and ended all restrictions back in spring when groups 1-4 were fully vaccinated. Could have had the bulk of this school wave done and dusted by the summer holidays.

  23. We saw Salem this week, (lively front man from Creeper) good in a sort of modern pop punk sort way. Shortish set as they've not a massive amount of material but this did lead to a great cover of the Damned's "New Rose"

  24. Mad Cool has a day with Muse , Queen of the stone age and Faith no More , hopefully at least RHCP and The Strokes on the same day on RW. There have been criticisms about the organization of the MD here on the forum but one thing is for sure is that they have a big poster... and they still lack a name

  27. Crazy additions for me QOTSA & FLORENCE. I am one of the weirdo's who actually like festivals to book artists that I actually know well and like and would and do pay to go and see their own shows. I don't particularly want or need a festival to book new exciting atcs as headliners. For my own tastes, I doubt there will be a stronger set of headliners at a festival next year. I am not a huge fan of Imagine Dragons or Pilots but my partner is, so can't ask for much more. A little gutted to see Sam on the Sunday as I like him and my partner is a massive fan but not enough to change our plans (Just asked 🙂). We have tickets to see him in a few weeks and he is going to be easy to see next year anyway. We have tickets for Wembley arena and he is supporting the Killers on a date we have tickets for. Plus my partner will no doubt find other shows by him for us to attend. I do think he looks out of place on that day, so my assumtion is it some what adds more weight to the idea of the "Boss" on Sunday. Sam would beg to be on the same day as Springsteen and would not be happy if his people got him a Madcool booking and had him on another day if they were aware he was on the bill. Maybe Madcool should pay the bookings team a bonus but sack the Comms/PR Team.

  29. It's the same show I saw and I'm jealous. Get down early. You are in for a treat. The trombone player in Keg also plays a massive shell. You don't often see that. Lounge Society were on good form last night too. Played a new song which was banging.

  30. To be honest I hadn't listened to Honeyglaze that much before so not sure which songs counted as being released or not. Really solid live though. The bassist has a droll patter, seemingly enjoyed telling the crowd how highly he rated the hand dryers in the gents toilet.

  37. Lounge Society, Honeyglaze and Keg in Southampton last night. 3 ridiculously good bands for £9. Keg are the best new live band around. I'll probably bore everyone by going on about them relentlessly.

  39. And isn't that the beauty of Glastonbury summed up there. 2 people can go and have equally amazing but totally different experiences. I left the Stones and went to Chase & Status and can confirm they were brilliant!

  40. Yes if you look at my clashfinder before Glastongury it looks impossible and that's because it is. I just tend to make sure that I have plans for if it's raining and I want to be indoors, if I'm tired and want to just sit in front of one stage for a run of acts, If I'm hungry what the best thing is near the best food. I usually have 2 or 3 must sees and roughly 150 like to sees that I can choose between. I have a lot of playlists etc in the run up to Glastonbury so even amongst the lower down acts I usually have tried to listen to a song or 2 and have an idea as to whether they will be for me or not.

  42. Splitting the 7 day money over 6 days is only 16% being spent more per day, which isn't really that much I think in the grand scheme of things plus lots of the costs e.g. renting island, infrastructure etc will be very similar whether its 6 or 7 days. I would prefer for A38 to go later with another big act than an extra act on the main stage due to the afternoon heat.

  43. Basically what we have learned from Mad Cool over the past years is that unless it’s on the poster - guessing what their Marketing team are on about is worthless Infact even when names make the poster, the shoddy marketing has led to them NOT appearing. The full line up will be here some enough

  44. Some of the best were the secret gig announcements (via word of mouth often) over the years, just checking back this one makes me laugh out loud, Beans on Toast secret gig at The Bimble Inn. So, if you missed him at all of the other 15 performances he did that year, this is for you…

  46. Started looking at flights today. I won't be in a position to book until mid-November at the earliest, but just to get an idea. Frustratingly, SkyScanner incorrectly lists basic tickets as flexible, so you click on the third party agent website and discover the price you thought it was is much higher. Can't wait to book, though. Can't wait to see my family again. There will be tears.
