Primavera Sound 2026

They are definitely going not just down tools again after a dozen or so shows.

Question is, will they play festivals? I can't see any reason why not, they have never been a band that focuses on maximising revenue.

It would seem unlikely - but from what has been said it seems plausible. I don't even think shows in 2026 are a guarantee at this point.

I guess we will know more in the coming months. Historically, Radiohead tend to announce festival dates pretty late, sometimes in January or even later. Perhaps they want to see how it feels like to be back during their autumn tour before deciding anything further.

I've concluded that in 2026 they are guaranteed to tour (barring disaster) and I think Primavera in fact very likely, given what was specifically shared by the original poster ages ago plus them being a perfect fit.

They got the London venue and month right - but were wrong with Paris, which comes across to me as an easy thing to misremember or maybe they just couldn't find the right available venue there in the end.

Moreover the profile is of a clearly very genuine music fan and no indication at all of any BS or any other rumour spreading.

I would be expecting much here.

I've been messaging this person on Reddit. Fwiw I don't think he's particularly confident. The venues being 'leaked' at this point was basically an open secret. Madrid as the opening date was mentioned months and months ago, and people had already worked out the dates for London before the official announcement based on other posters saying they were playing 4 nights across 5 days and the current dates being the only ones available in the O2 Calendar. Not to mention he said Paris which was never on the cards (Colin Greenwood was on the Adam Buxton Podcast in April and even back then this routing was locked in).

Add this to information from genuine sources on here @Tigane and @Daniel Ferreira, the latter being spot on with a handful of names last year, and the initial scoop that the Cure had backed out from fests - Radiohead seem to be out for festivals and primavera at the very least.

Thats it, madrid and london were already leaked when he wrote that. His only news were paris and the festivals. And seeing paris was wrong… I would not expect much else.

Not saying he was lying or anything, maybe he just got wrong info.

Yeah agreed. I don't think it was to troll or anything - just either the information was wrong, or was right and now plans have changed. These things can happen, see The Cure last year.

yeah indeed let's see what happens. I didn't think Radiohead would tour this year, didn't think mbv would either, but now both are touring in a few months

Artists like this aren't in the write/record/release album/tour cycle so you can't predict. But I also agree why decide to do a few stadium dates and then go quiet again? Or maybe they will 😉

David Byrne's setlist from his first gig of his tour looks great:

I really hope that he will be playing Primavera.

David Byrne (like Kraftwerk), is one of the acts I'm surprised Primavera have never bagged.  Seeing him on the Coachella lineup makes me more confident it will finally happen.  Fingers crossed for Devo too, even though I know they've previously played

I'm really not sure NIN are very likely at all. I speculate Nine Inch Noize is simply a one off for now. The fact they can't even book the full band for coachella (which I assume would be a bigger pull) is indicative of a lack of commitment for 2026.

Saying that if it's similar to the show I saw earlier this year it will be good - I just dont expect that format to be at other festivals in summer 2026.

I wouldn't say that's for sure, I think they are playing under that aaliis due to the radius clause in the Coachella booking terms

I don't know the radius clause off the top of my head but surely dates in September don't affect it? I would assume it would shows from around December-April?
