Would Lola Young be a headliner? I am not really familiar with her, but it would surprise me to see her as one.

It seems strange to me too. I don't know her well and I don't know how many sales she'll generate, but she was mentioned alongside other headliners, so I took it for granted.

With or without her, I think a couple of headliners are missing. With the exception of The Cure, they're not names with astronomical fees.

I think she’ll play the Haim slot.

I don't understand, why does everyone here consider official what is just a rumor ?

In previous years this proved to be the right approach (instead of being sceptical).

And it's not like someone created an account yesterday just to troll us today. I'm not saying that I'm completely sure that all the leaked names will be on the poster (anything can happen between now and the day of the poster drop) but I'm pretty sure that no one is trolling us intentionally.

I have to say, I want to like the XX but live they have been boring the hell out of me for years. And have been playing at the forum on and off for 16 years...

Last time they played at the forum was in 2017... 9 years ago!

I mean I don't suspect the source here (reliable) but the external one... okay, we'll see

I've also heard elsewhere about The Cure, but they also mentioned Tyler and Tame Impala, so I don't know...
As for Gorillaz, I tend to think that they could go to BBK Live instead. They played in Madrid last night (did not sell out) so it's not the fresher act right now to make all the difference and it would be too similar to 2022 with Gorillaz, Tame Impala, Lorde and maybe Tyler again, though the new song with Sparks is very primaverish.

Anyway, The Cure, Gorillaz, Lorde, Tame Impala, The XX, Tyler and Lola Young would be too much for the "big" names (even Lola Young not being a propper headliner)

I'm not able to count Lola Young as a headliner, so it's six big names (two per day) - exactly like 2023. So I don't think this lineup is too strong to be true. However, as you mentioned, it might be too "2022-like" to be true.

If I had to choose only two 2022 headliners to be there next year, it would be Gorillaz and Lorde (or Gorillaz and The Strokes if that's an option).

It feels a bit light on costs and not surprising compared to the three pop girls this year. This lineup would not sell out the festival. Maybe the Tyler day, but yeah, relatively uninspiring.

I don't know. Live music seems to be enjoying a massive renaissance at the moment, driven by FOMO and social media. Have you seen ticket prices for Oasis and System of A Down and look at the insane demand for Radiohead?

They have such a loyal fanbase/reputation and ever more foreigners seem to want to come.

Would they sell out by January? No. But reckon that lineup could still sell out in the current times...

Oasis, SOA and Radiohead are all massively popular bands though that haven't toured in a long time or don't tour all that much, it's not surprising they are generating a lot of hype, however I don't think having Tame Impala, Tyler, Gorillaz and Lorde headline again after 2022 would even remotely be that exciting, none of them are acts that are difficult to catch live either, The xx are also kind of meh in my opinion... The festival would probably still sell fairly well, but would be a bit underwhelming for long time festival goers, a name like Radiohead or MBV could definitely help create more buzz (Idk if it's even possible to hope for a name like that for next year)

As much as I love MBV they aren’t ticket shifters.

Where they will be successful is in going early. Announcing in the next 2 weeks would steal a march on the competition and bound to be enough biggish names on the bill like The Cure to generate some FOMO.

I'll be very excited for the Cure if that's true. Never seen them live. The other names here I've either seen or don't know (Lola Young) so not that exciting, but the undercard is always great and if they spend less on the top line maybe the undercard will be even stronger than usual.

Really hoping for a Clipse return. Let God Sort Em Out is my album of the year so far. Also Ho99o9 would be cool and feel like exactly the type of niche multi-genre act that PS likes to book.

If both The Cure and Tyler are in this it would be strong. We would have to see who else is in there ofc, but there you have two big names that have sold bigger tours than Sabrina (for example) in europe.

I will be happy if some of Lorde, The xx or Doechii are there also. On the other hand, Tame Impala or Gorillaz don’t hype me that much. And after not having sold well on a smaller event yesterday I dont think Gorillaz are something they want to book.

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
