Primavera Sound 2026

I don't think there is much that would prevent Radiohead from announcing a one-off festival show for Primavera next week. That's not the same as a tour. It wouldn't make the news. However, I still don't think it is them. Just from probabilities. It is fair to say that no more than one of the popular bands here will play (Radiohead, NIN, The Cure), but probably zero.

I doubt they'll get announced for anything before even their first gig in Madrid happens. But I'm now thinking no festivals next year from what others have said. Especially how they said 'this is it for now' in the announcement. I don't think they'd have even mentioned that part if they knew they were going to be announced for festivals before the end of the year.

Radiohead last time announced Primavera at the same day as several other festivals (in fact if I remember a Swiss festival got in first) and would have expected the same here.

And last poster makes a good point, would be odd to say no current plans to play elsewhere 2 weeks ago and so quickly after announce plans to play elsewhere. The omens really aren’t good…

I'm not talking about lineup at May... January gives us plenty of time to prepare. If it means Radiohead I'll take it

For me, January is too late. I love analyzing the line-up in depth and the more time I have the better.

Actually, I can't think of any single artist in the world that would justify (in my eyes) waiting for the line-up til January

OK, maybe Daft Punk.

They played Best Kept Secret in 2017 and the announcement was made late october 2016. I don't think they will annouce festivals (if they play them) before the European tour is over.

Radiohead has a habit of announcing festivals rather late. Sometimes in January or later so I don´t think we know yet if they will show up or not.

Given Primavera rarely announces acts on one offs, and we can already see signs they're likely to announce soon - yeah they're out

Can't wait to go from Radiohead/mbv/nin to  The National/Interpol/Tame Impala 😅

Yeah same plus people start planning holidays etc way before January. Ik most of us here will buy early bird tickets but a lot of people will only buy when they know the lineup

Radiohead were never on the agenda and people convincing themselves that they were on the agenda is pretty absurd. But at least it creates a feedback loop where those people can now complain that Primavera 'missed' Radiohead while booking some sh*t modern pop act.

They literally booked Radiohead last time they did a large European tour and sold the festival out. Hardly absurd to think they would want to book them!

Why is the idea of Radiohead headlining a festival absurd?

Still think that they are slightly too big for Primavera nowadays. Or rather: they could make more money with their own shows.

You could say that for so many acts. Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Rei, Kendrick Lamar, Rosalia...

Actually Radiohead is the last act on these lists to prioritise money. Over the years, they have often chosen smaller venues - Roundhouse in 2016 for example. And on this latest mini-tour, they could have chosen dynamic pricing to make much more.

I see that every name we suggest you say won't be there, I'd like to know who you realistically hope will be there

I'd love Radiohead there and thought it was somewhat likely a few weeks back. But it's quite clear it isn't happening now!

The XX, Tame Impala, Lorde all seem likely. I'd take Lorde for sure, and I wouldn't mind seeing The XX.

The Cure seem somewhat likely given there's rumours of them at Isle of Wight two weeks after Primavera and they were apparently booked for last year. I'd take them just as much as Radiohead.

Could see Doechii being booked as a big name.

They also say "The band hope to do more shows elsewhere in the future" so the idea that they might do something next year isn't out of the question, who knows what that will be though.

That just means long term though. I think if they had loads of festivals lined up with imminent announcements they wouldn't say this is it for now.

Radiohead are the type of band that if they're touring, you do absolutely everything in your power to get them.

Info suggests that they aren't playing any festivals, so I doubt it's a lack of trying from primaveras part.
