Haven't been to Coachella but get the impression it's a bunfight unlike Primavera and people camp out for the main act 5 hours in advance.

So watching the headliner ends up being on a screen from a mile back. Which is why I wouldn't be fussed about there not being any good ones.

I didnt experience that having been. While last year, weekend two at least didnt sell out and weekend one was very easy to get tickets for, I had no problem getting closer for acts I was bothered about. We struck very lucky getting Blur, Chilli's and Stone Roses as 3 of the 4 headliners and then it gave me chances to have a mix of acts for the other night. I did a little bit of mooching around New Order and other bits. It was the more sombre night but also a nice undercard day too. I'd say it was the year to go for a Brit in many ways. Blur, Stone Roses, YYYs I believe one night. Modest Mouse and Passion Pit which was great at the time. Times have obviously changed so I cant comment on 15 years later. The weather is the big standout aspect.

The Cure are playing France in August. I guess it makes them a bit less likely.

More than a bit lol

Maybe but in 2019 they played a full summer of European festivals from early to up to late August.

Interesting too, The Cure have only played Primavera once the same year as Werchter and in general once only. I'd be very shocked to not see them there again. It's been a 7 year gap and even taking covid years out its 5 I think which when they have been touring more regular is the biggest they had. And I want it lol. I wouldn't say it locks them in yet mind. I however would not be surprised for them to be the first act announced.

More likely imo. It shows they are definitely doing festivals next summer. And they have done full summers before

They'll also be doing Royal Albert Hall in March, so they won't have a big gap between March and August I wouldn't have thought

Another interesting artist who is touring with his new 3D show is UNKLE . I remember he played a few years ago at primavera but I missed them cause they clashed with someone or I got talking to somebody and forgot about them. Anyways I think they would be a great addition.

Love unkle

How many times have the cure played primavera?

Once, so they don't exactly have a record of returning, and the festival was on many years before that when they played elsewhere and not there.

no, but they might be doing something else for a while before Europe after.

Sure I'm not saying they're guaranteed to play...but the fact they're touring next summer has to make them *more* likely rather than *less* likely to play Primavera

Agree and also someone here confirmed that they were trying to book them last year.

How likely do you think it is that The Strokes return? I would say without a new album very unlikely. But if they release something new, I could see it. The New Abnormal is one of the biggest rock albums in recent time that connected with younger crowds (see Spotify numbers).
