Where does this info come from? From what I've heard there are Radiohead rumours for Prima Vera and Nos Alive.

i heard this from where i usually get info about other festivals, that are usually right.  I was told this on Thursday.

However i have no idea, if the info is true or final.

Tigane's source is a good one, but I'm trying to have faith. These gigs they will play seem to me like the beginning of something bigger... let's stay positive.

I don’t want to question anyone’s sources, but it seems really surreal to me that Radiohead, after years and years of silence and waiting, would return for a handful of dates in five cities and then disappear again.

It's not even that they've sold out so quickly, it's the sheer scale of demand.

 

I've seen them 19 times and most of the times not at festivals. In 2016 they did 7 concerts at 3-5k venues (Heineken Amsterdam, Zenith Paris, Roundhouse London).

 

No limit on amount of shows booked, European and London tickets were staggered by an hour so you could buy European shows, then buy London tickets an hour later. No codes/registrations.

 

Total maybe 30,000 tickets.

 

I managed to buy Amsterdam night 1, go back into the booking page and buy Amsterdam night 2. An hour later I got a Roundhouse ticket. Amsterdam in particular wasn't too hard as long as you were right on time and had signed up to fan presale.

 

This time round they sold about 350,000 tickets. 

 

They had registration, only one city you could be picked for. Geographical restrictions. Large majority didn't even get a code. For several venues servers were still battered. Most still disappointed. Just a whole other level of demand and I'm very surprised. Not so much by London but from cities like Berlin where they weren't as popular. Lollapalooza 2016 in Berlin didn't sell out for a very long time even with them headlining.

They can return and not doing European festivals, at least next year. It's completely possible. It's not mandatory to play festivals, so... but as much reliable Tigane's source is, I guess this is a very special case and everything can change.

If Radiohead are out I really hope we get someone like The Cure instead. Think the top line will look incredibly stale if it's just Lorde, Tyler, Tame, Doechii and/or Gorillaz/Nick Cave. It looks too much like 2022 for my liking.

It would be nice to have The Cure on. Last year it seemed they were going to do something after launching a very good album, but in the end they just did those couple of small radio shows with bbc.

To be fair it was stale this year. You might wonder if they are leaving festivals for 2027 with Glastonbury. I was thinking it might be a case of Radiohead vs The Cure for Primavera and Werchter but Radiohead might not even be in the conversation.

i was told they don't plan to do festivals.  That doensn't rule a stadium tour or a bigger venues tour .

Or they can simply wake up tomorrow and decide to do festivals intead.

With all of this,  i am not saying that is 100% guaranted that they won't do festivals

Is just saying that i got a reliable info that they might don't do festivals after all.


They can even decide to do these november tour,  and do an american/asian tour in 2026 and then enter studio for a new album,  and do a 2027 proper world tour with festivals and all.

So let's wait and see

It absolutely was not stale. It also literally sold out. And that's coming from someone who wasn't really keen on the headliner trio.

What so Charli XCX, Sabrina and Chappell, all female headliner trio without any diversity or mix in there wasn't stale? With FKA Twigs, Clairo also taking up two of the subs spots as well. It should sell out, it's one event of 75k.

Stale isn't the right word but it certainly wasn't exciting; Sabrina C was boring AF.

Limiting the "headliners" just to the three pop girlies was a marketing gimmick. As far as I was concerned, Beach House, Jamie xx, LCD Sound, and Fontaines DC all got good Mordor slots that were headliner-equivalent.

All three of them aren't really alike, it's a bit like saying vampire weekend, pulp and the national are all the same because they're all bands.

Why the personal attack? Clairo was indeed listed as a sub spot on the poster, which likely contributed to its strong ticket sales.

Yes, someone here made a detailed post a while back with arguments as to why PS wouldn't book her again. I personally still believe that Clairo remains a future contender, especially if her forthcoming 4th album is another hit.

@Tigane information is valid, the source is the same as mine, last year I left 6 names here for Primavera Portugal and everything was fine.
