regardless of their political stance:
would you consider this radiohead tour a must see even if you already saw them playing?
My reasoning is that no way this won't lead to a proper tour with an album release in 1 to 2 years. Maybe better to keep the money and the expectations for that time anyway?

I would say so, they haven't played in Europe since 2017. Its going to be anazing.

When you have a chance to see Radiohead live - see Radiohead live. as simple as that

If that was the case it would've been much easier to just say what everyone wanted to hear and not mention Hamas at all. I think they genuinely do what they want and have never seemed too concerned with the commercial side of things (at least not as a big priority).

What's the problem of mentioning Hamas? Genuine question.

As I mentioned up thread, part of the specific issue with Thom's approach is that his sh*tty hot take on protestors now makes them more of a target for protests.

Anyone not convinced by that just needs to see how quickly BDS reacted to the tour announcement suggesting a boycott and how quickly journalists picked that up.

Add to that, another 8 months of the current hell is going to only prove more divisive and it wouldn't take much for other bands to boycott festivals making 'dubious' policy decisions .

This does not mean that Primavera would not book them but it would be incredibly naive to dismiss this as an issue and to think it isn't being discussed behind closed doors (all assuming that they are available which Phil has said they are not).

I'm just saying if he hadn't also called out Hamas' wrongdoings I don't think there would've been as much backlash because it wouldn't have been possible to view his statement as pro-Zionist. I don't think it is at all anyway, but a lot of people apparently do.

This nothing news, BDS have been trying to boycott Radiohead gigs for at least 8 years.

BDS are not important and Radiohead have played where they wanted since then.

And Radiohead are pretty moderate/not divisive in their views.

It is an absolute non-issue - call me naive!

Would downgrade Ethel Cain, Smerz and YHWH Nailgun to the unlikely category... all of them have dates in Barcelona this fall so would be strange to see, at least all three in primavera 2026

That doesn't necessarily work that way, Fontaines D.C., Amaia, julie and lot of other bands played last fall & winter in Spain and then they were in PS25. Previous years were more or less the same.

The last dinner party playing in Febrary are a bit closer, but still Amaia and julie played at the end of febrary in Barcelona and then they were also performing in the festival. I'd personally draw a line somewhere in March... if a band comes to Spain in April, that almost rules them out for Primavera.

With that said, Lola Young isnt playing Spain next spring, and could potentially be at the Forum on the Saturday 30th...

Why 30th? She's free each day of Primavera (4th to 6th June), so I believe there is a strong chance.
