  1. Sorry folks I'm a little confused. I've got my full festival ticket linked up on Access Tickets but I'm not sure what the next step is for getting into the inner-city gigs? I can see the date and times that things go on sale but not actually where to buy them. Specifically for Yo La Tengo's covers set and The National. Thanks !
  2. Okay, so - all speculation and speculation on speculation and speculating that someone has speculated a speculation aside. Who are the top three artists you've "discovered" in the lead up to PS2024? I use "discovered" in the loosest, most personal sense. Ie - I have no delusion that Bikini Kill are an underground overlooked cult darling. But I'd never really tried them before this lineup was announced, and shock horror - they're absolutely f**king brilliant. Top three so far for me: Bikini Kill Lambchop Beth Gibbons. PS - Is there any indication of what Lambchop will play at their set? It's an "intimate piano performance" so I'm not sure if recent setlists will give much to go by.
  3. Well, I really, really enjoyed that. I loved last year and would probably put this year up at the same level. There were some really surreal runs that just sum up how eclectic and inventive the line-up is in comparison to other, similarly sized festivals. Saturday, going from Nish Kumar to Pavement to 2ManyDJs (all of whom were great) and then Sunday going from Adam Buxton to Grace Jones (!!!) to Scalping... it's just brilliant. 100% feel for the poor souls who had day tickets for the Sunday - and have a feeling the announcement should probably have been made earlier - but if our experience getting out of the car park is anything to go by then it was most likely the right call. I can imagine it being absolute chaos in the rain trying to get out last night. Overall I'm not sure there's an awful lot more that could have been done with regards to weather and the mud etc. Certainly not going to hold it against the organisers. As others have noted earlier on in this forum, the site is prone to sound bleed from stage to stage which isn't ideal. BC Camplight in particular had a hard time of it when trying to play a solo song on the keyboard. They made a joke out of it though - and handled it very well in my opinion. Enjoyed their set too. It's a difficult situation really because the flip side of the coin is that the vast majority of sets I saw had really good quality, nice, loud sound. For example, I had friends at Wide Awake festival who said Black Country, New Road's set was butchered completely by the poor sound there. Absolutely no such problems here in my opinion. But then perhaps the drawback from that is the current layout of the site can't handle it and you end up with sound bleed during the quieter moments. I'm not really sure how it works, but that's my thinking anyways. Was pleased to see the Notes tent bigger than last year. Beer prices are extortionate as expected but it almost seems irrelevant with such a... ahem... laissez-faire security policy entering in and out of the arena. Highlight: Pavement Lowlight: The grown man in the camp across from us who spent all weekend belching like an eight year old. Surprise package: Either David Nutt's talk on Psychadelics, Nish Kumar (who I already liked but never really thought was that funny), or BEAK>, who I had only briefly listened to but completely smashed their set on the Orbit stage.
  4. Got hounded out of the queue for Apolo (2) at 1am. Physically pushed my partner and said they were closed, shepherded and shouted at everyone to get out of the street. Meanwhile there was still an act playing til 1.15 and Giles Peterson (who we were queuing for) wasn't due to finish til 3.30. Just walked back past and the queues are back again. Awful awful awful. Wasn't even a big queue. Just typical that just as the (our) festival is ending they finally find some kind of crowd control, if only to scam people out of gigs they're eligible for.
  5. Can anyone in Razz 1 confirm how full it actually is please?
  6. No bother, have a good night at the pub
  7. Razzmatazz 1 doors just opened
  8. It's surely not already full, we've been here since 6 and it hasn't moved nearly enough to fill the venue. Besides, DICE has the doors as 8pm and the nearby DICE queue hasn't moved either. Hopefully the capacity app is just showing full to say there's more than the capacity already queueing outside
  9. Slowdive/King Gizz queue loops back on itself fairly heavily once it gets close to the venue. Have been here since 6, moved a fair bit forward in fits and starts. Just asked a member of staff and they weren't sure whether we'd make it into the venue or not (one weekend tickets, not far off the final Z of the Razzmatazz sign)
  10. Walked last not long ago and there was hardly anyone in the queue. Maybe 40 tops. I'm hoping to just rock up and walk in once the bands have started (fingers crossed)
  11. Am I right in thinking that the body searches are more or less arbitrary? I've got a couple of hipflasks and a mini pot of joints to fit down my pants...
  12. Anyone with any recommendations for post midnight on Monday Week One? Planning to be at Sala Apolo all evening for the London jazz takeover thing but at a loss after that... There's King Gizz at 00:40 but I'm assuming that'll be full by the time I could get there. Also pretty stuck between Iceage into King Gizz, Jenny Beth into Beck or Alex Cameron into shame on the Sunday. Thanks
