Rodrigo, Fred, Fender

I can see it being this.

They’ll want a big fish of either Rihanna, Stevie or Eminem.

But I just think all 3 are flakier than a Greggs sausage roll.

If putting money on right now - who would people go with for their three headliners, out of interest?

Olivia, Fred and Rihanna/Stevie. I think if Fender was more in the conversation as a closer definite this tour would be in the summer rather than now.

Dunno about an if - I actually do have money on Fred and Liv.

Third one I've got less idea about.

Me too, put money on quite early.

I'd be pretty happy with a trio of O-Rod, Fred and Fender. All acts I'd happily see, but also not so good that if someone I really liked was headlining somewhere else I'd feel bad about missing.

Agreed here

Three arena level acts is weak for a festival that gets stadium acts on the reg.

I agree with this to a point but think Fender with Finsbury is higher than that. Stadium acts can announce runs of arenas too. You've had acts in the last 5 years that don't even do outside arenas and hadn't even sold out a UK arena tour headline, two of those the same year I might add. You didn't even have two stadium acts here at least that had done that for the big 2022 anniversary...a year I still think overall is way over hyped on here.

I'd say Olivia Rodrigo probably could have done more than arenas, given the volume of tickers that went at the speed that they did.

She IS a huge huge star, worthy of a spot that big.

EDIT: Keeping the typo in for comedy value

I think any two of them with a big hitter in the third slot is fine.  All three it becomes a little bit underpowered.

Though chiefly saying that as I'm not massively enthused by the prospect of the Budgens Boss taking up prime real estate.  Even Eminem carries a bit more intrigue.

I reckon 'arena level' isn't really a good indicator of Glastonbury headliners potential. Multi-shows per arena yes.

Examples from the Manchester AO arena listings:

James Blunt, Toto, Jacob Collier, London Grammar, Black Stone Cherry, The Human League, The Corrs, Gabrielle, The Wombats, etc. I don't think so! Hope we're above that level!

Just because Fender is playing arenas doesn't mean he can't sell out stadiums. He already has.

Quite normal to do an arena tour then some stadium show the following summer.

Also he could choose to do multiple arena nights (or not to create a high demand/ hype for future stadium shows).

Honestly, Olivia Rodrigo / Fred again.. / Sam Fender is strong enough in my book. It's three arena-level acts - though Fender likely heads towards stadiums next year, depending on demand this winter - with very strong live reputations.

All 3 are stadium ready, just haven't done it yet.

Two of them have headlined R&L and O-Rod is clearly at that level too.

They are new and haven't done the shows yet - all 3 could clearly do them.

You could argue Fred isn't even an arena act yet if you wanted to !

Two have them have done stadiums.

Sam did SJP twice.

Fred that place in LA.

    • I was surprised as well. I met more than 20 different people on both Friday and Saturday that had come in reusing QR codes.
    • Where was this announced, if i may ask?   I really lucked out with a great spot for Ninajirachi up front with ample dancing space. What a crazyass vibe.   Overall it wasn't my favorite edition but the Friday and Saturday experiences justify a return trip next year.

    • If Werchter pulled in Blink and Foos plus like Sabrina if she's touring and got System if they are I'd be more inclined to try it vs RIP if they got Blink, Foos and System. I don't at the moment, maybe reflection will be different, think that RIP is greatly setup for overseas travelling over. It feels more like currently day festival days with a camping over separate rather than hotel as its included.
    • I think many US people are fed up with the US and have definitely discovered how amazing it is to come to Barcelona for a better experience and way cheaper than back home.   Surely PS doesnt set up a huge commercial festival only to not put in place a system where QR codes can’t be re-used?
