I’ve bought some new boots. They need breaking in. I’ve also put new insoles into my normal trainers and are wearing them in and I’ll be going out walking in the Glasgow rain tomorrow and Monday. Everyone’s got to do their bit.

I've burnt my wellies and gave my waterproof trousers and jacket to the charity shop.

tbf, the wellies are mainly hydrocarbons, probably made nudged global warming in our favour.

Excellent work.

Ive just put some new tyres on the back of my Beemer, I’ll do a few burnouts for the cause.

I’ve got this, Team. Hauling hiking books and wet weather gear all the way from NZ. This sacrifice has worked in the past.

I’ve just purchased walking boots. The wife has ordered a new rain coat.

I feel as a collective this should be enough to appease “them”.

The latest ensembles are interesting. Pressure rise this week bringing drier conditions before low pushes in towards the end of the week. Then pressure rise again as we go into festival week.

Showers Thurs through Sat would be of little consequence IF we then get the high building from Sunday.  All to play for.

That ties in with the bbc forecast that shows a bit of drizzle next weekend followed by drier and warmer weather towards the gates opening🙏🤞

Never trust the BBC - three times this year already they have forecast well ahead warm and sunny weather and then when it gets there it is wet and cold.

They get over excited.

Yep I'm sure I read BBC dropped using the Met Office bits and bobs in a cost saving exercise now it's pretty inaccurate.

OK, it’s time to welcome back our old friends, the Japanese.  Their well regarded model, the JMA is in agreement with the GFS and ECM, and gives us a warm and dry start to festival week.  They are more in line with the ECM, and end up with a large area of high pressure over Scandinavia by midday on Wednesday.  This would give us warm/hot weather at least to set-up day but with an increasing chance of thundery showers encroaching from the south.

If they keep that high there for the rest of the festival, we’d be in for a scorcher, but always with the risk of thundery showers from the south.    More runs needed.

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
