  1. Wouldn't say the dream of this happening is over yet.. we had a late announcement of skindred last year and the late annocement of kalush orchestra on the stage the previous year.
  2. Assuming peace is the new truth stage. Seems to hold most of the artists under the earache takeover.

This. Also to go back to the same pub two nights in a row was a big miss. Was really hoping they'd take a leaf out of barbsters book and capture some of the magic of the festival.
  4. - Crowd management staff for each stage to maintain walkways with the exception of the SE area. Implementation of one way system around pyramid. - Dealing with campers prior to Elton. - Cleanliness and tidying stages were brilliant. Swift pick ups of the NOS canisters by the plain clothed sweepers after Webster was impressive. - Avalon stage and screen improvements. - Silver Hayes is now an area that can compete with the SE in terms of spectical and quality. - Late night additions to Woodsies. - Having the actors and drag queens back in Shangri-la and more hidden rooms to explore in general. - Circus walkabouts were plentiful - back to pre pandemic levels. - Everyone being so friendly, lots of politeness when someone was trying to get past you in the crowd that you can't find at other fests. - Honest communication, when stages were running late we were kept informed.
  5. It was Row mead that people were displaced from. They ended up in big ground and kidney mead. Filled faster then ever.. Both sites were full for large tents/groups by 10am.
  6. - if Carhenge is here to stay, judging by the foundations dug for it.. it is. Then it needs a stage with similar upcoming underground indie/alternative acts to hold crowd footfall. In its current form once you've seen it there's no reason to return after you've seen the chaps hit a few cans with sticks. - Needs to be an additional stage with acts on to alleviate Thursday overcrowding. Avalons new tent would be perfect. - Flags blocking views. I don't want to get rid of them but prevent people with them from going into the main stage D ring/golden circle area. Stipulate a minimum height requirement. - Not enough late night music options. Getting Earache on board is a good start but bring back the stage. Festival lacks metal/indie late night options, and the demand for this is apparent. - Dance music variety. Serious lack of Techno and it's subgenres. - Showers. Need longer opening hours in the morning and evening, opening times have remained the same for many years despite the increase in capacity. It's got to a point where people are waking up at 6am to queue for an hour till doors open as this is more time effective then arriveing at opening and having a 2hr wait. - Shangri-la, the placement of hell stage opposite food stalls and the bar leads to people queuing outwards into a very small passing pathway. Had some of the worst crushes here. Needs a revamp. - Peeing on the land. Worst year to date for it in the Shangri-la loos. Oxfam stewards constantly yelling on megaphones that people risk being removed if they do it.. fell on death ears and people soon cottened on this wasn't actually enforceable. - Park Screens. This comes up every year, great that we've got the screens in Avalon now. Let's get a similar setup for Park please including one on the back of the sounddesk. - Gate security. Lacking searches this year both on the wristband gate and vehicle gate. Was in a large group of 20 and no one got searched. Seemed to be alot more pyro, NOS and drugs this year.
  7. Exactly this - if you choose to camp here an experience like OP is pretty much expected.
  8. If it's anything to go by.. Shangri-la DJ/Compere before basement jaxx this morning announced it was the busiest the area had ever been. The set was 30 mins late to allow the crowd to 'filter through' to alleviate the risk of a crush.
  9. On par with last year, entry to bandstand for showhawk duo was cut off due to capacity. Crowd control improvements already visible, dedicated team in place to keep walkways clear and people moving.

    Glastocam!

Would hazard a guess they are the supports to hold a tightrope/beam in place as part of the opening ceremony performance/fire show

    The Levels

Spoiler warning Image: The Levels (under construction)
  12. EE have confirmed they've been on site
  13. Would really appreciate a few recommendations from the lineup - I'm mainly into Melodic Tech/Trance e.g Monolink, Artbat, Joyhauser, Oostil, Bakgor and Anyma. Any pointers much appreciated!
