Latest GFS has calmed the f**k down on temperatures.

Still essentially dry - warm to the start of the festival, cooler for Fri and Sat and back up for the Sun.

HOLD!

Just once I'd like another 1995 (or 1976) summer where a giant high settles over the UK and refuses to shift.

1995 was incredible. I was off between A Levels and Uni and it was glorious.

It was some summer.  My first ever G - and coincidentally the only one where I've ever been a bit too hot.  But that's on me for not hydrating, not having a hat and sweating my coupon off in front of El Pointo waiting for Page & Plant.

May and June 2020 were glorious from memory. My daughter was born 3 days before lockdown in March and I was off for 5 months on shared parental leave. That Glastonbury lineup was huge even if it never happened and from memory the weather would have been all timer as well

I remember seeing some of the C4 footage and the NME photos after Glastonbury that year and it looked like proper arid desert

I know know millions died, but the Taylor-Macca Glastonbury is still the biggest thing that covid robbed us of.

I’ve got a new foe, the wind. My local beer festival just cancelled its entire weekend of sessions due to high winds - rain not even an obstacle. Ever had high winds causing peril at Glastonbury?

A beer festival tends to generate wind

I seem to remember it being quite rainy on the BBC special broadcast from the farm and thinking we did well (from a weather perspective)?

Then again, it might just have been a rainy spell that's shadowing my memory

From JackOne on Netweather:

Are there any updates on ground conditions, obviously it has been a very wet spring, but it been has a bit drier lately.

In the run to the festival remaining a bit unsettled but with some drier days e.g. the middle of next week.

But one or two hints of something perhaps a little better for the festival itself.
