Could have bumped Lizzo to headliner (if she is indeed returning) who would have smashed it rather than booking washed up dad rock bands looking for a cash in. But hey that's just my take, hope everyone who watches em has a blast.

Lizzo, Little Simz, Florence & the Machine, Christine & the Queens, Kae Tempest, Wolf Alice. All with current releases. All with a sizeable body of work (i.e. more releases than Mumfords and Eilish) I think all touring right now. And all able to bring a little less cock rock than the current rumours. Certainly less cock.Ā

I kinda agree here. Was saying a month ago that Lizzo would step up given the opportunity and blow everyone away. That would feel a very Glasto thing. Booking who they have doesn’t. Let’s be fair, they have a history of having headliners who are relatively young and on an upward trajectory, so why not again?

Serious question - how many of you would prefer the rumoured Coachella heads?

Not a very popular opinion I'm sure, but I'd happily take Bad Bunny or Frank Ocean over GNR or AM - but don't really think either would go down that well at Glasto or on here. Buzzing with Elton though, and I'm sure there will be a lot of other great options on whilst the other 2 are on.

This is incredibly thin skinned. No dads are actively harmed by use of the term dad rock.

It's a personal pet peeve of mine. I hate all this ageist terms and use of arbitrary groupings of people born between random sets of years (like millennials and generation x) that are thrown around these days all they do is pit normal people against each other and distract us from the rich and powerful who are destroying society and the planet.

Every time someone says dad rock it makes Michael Gove a little bit richer and more powerful

They used to but Stormzy aside, they very much seem to be going for big established acts now rather than promoting newer acts who maybe haven’t had the chance to headline a major festival here. Most of the first time headliners within the last 10 years or so have already been very established acts (Adele, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish etc, even Mumfords at the time) and some of the biggest acts in the world. I’d much rather see Lizzo headline but Guns make more sense based on the bookings since 2015 or so.

I would LOVE to see Bad Bunny but I think he needs to do his own show in the UK. Too many people seem to be proud of the fact that they’ve never heard one of his songs. Very strange badge of honour. Terminally incurious mindset!

Love Frank, especially Blonde, but I didn’t enjoy his Lovebox headline and I’m honestly not that bothered about seeing him again.Ā

Given the success of Get Back and the recent Let It Be and Revolver reissues I wouldn’t be shocked to see a new Beatles greatest hits/retrospective on the market in the next year or so. Last one was 1 and that was 20 years ago.

Bloody hell twenty years?Ā

This will only be my 10th Glastonbury and from the potential 30 Pyramid Headliners I could have/will watch, only 10 hold any interest to me. Maybe I should have cried more about the other 20. Maybe I did and I just can't remember. Most likely I just wasn't arsed. You know, they're not for me, other people will enjoy it, move on.

I can though sympathise with people who don't have at least one Pyramid headliner to enjoy this year. It's happened to me a few times and despite the whole "it's not about the Pyramid, there's loads to see elsewhere" bravado, I did miss not having the big event in those years.Ā

Ā

100% agree with this. Tons of artists I actively dislike have headlined but I was having a ball doing something else.

Equally seeing a headline set on the Pyramid is great. But I'm not mad if I miss a year doing that.

Equally there have been people who weren’t considered big enough at the time. Including F&tM. Mumfords, Pulp, the Arctics Monkeys the first time. They have two big names, take a gamble on the third…

Ā

Worth noting that Florence and Pulp's first go were both last minute promotions due to other acts pulling out

I think Where the Streets Have No Name got played two years in a row, first when The Edge came out with Muse and then with Bono and the lads a year later.

Good one. 10 internet points to you.Ā

I'd love him to play, but in Glastonbury terms he's a West Holts headliner - or Other Stage at best. So it's not happening.

    • Considering how popular of a booking Scooter have been I think they'd go down well
    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
