Can't imagine him canning his stadium run and BST next year so I'd imagine Glastonbury is still pretty safe.

Exactly, the 2022 dates and tickets still on sale via his website. Looks like he is playing those ones first. Looks like Glastonbury is even more likely next summer.

I know right, so annoying! Tbh I’m exploring getting a refund tbh and going to see him in Hyde Park. Half a decade between booking the tickets and the gig is pushing it a bit and could do with the money back!

Though to go to Hyde Park, you'd also need to skip Glastonbury, or at least turn up very late.

My girlfriend is not happy! 😄

Hello,

We are writing to you with information about your Elton John booking at The O2.

Sadly the event scheduled to take place on Tuesday 2nd November 2021 will now be taking place on Tuesday 4th April 2023.

A Message from Elton:

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am forced to reschedule the 2021 dates of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Europe and the UK to 2023.

At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since. Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving. I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications. I will be undertaking a program of intensive physiotherapy that will ensure a full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain.

I am going to complete the charitable Global Citizen event on 25th September as I don’t want to let a charity down. Being just five songs it’s a very different physical undertaking to the demands of playing for close to three hours every night on tour and travelling overnight between countries. After this I will be having the operation to ensure the tour can get back on the road in January of 2022 in New Orleans.

I know how patient my incredible fans have been since Covid halted touring last year, and it breaks my heart to keep you waiting any longer. I completely feel your frustrations after the year we’ve had. I promise you this - the shows will return to the road next year and I will make sure they are more than worth the wait.

Love,

Elton x"

Please note – your booking will automatically carry over to the rescheduled show/date. New digital tickets will be issued prior to the new show/date

Booked Elton tickets 6 months after turning 35.

The rescheduled gig is now 2 weeks after my 40th.

I’ll be as bald as he is at this rate!

I’m the same, it was going to be 3 years since I bought the tickets, now will be up to 5 years!! How much interest does Elton owe me??

Bit worried this won’t be the last delay, hate to say but I think it’s gonna be a long long time before any of us get to see him back on stage.

I’ll have waited 5 years, what’s another 5 between friends?

I'm surprised he didn't explicitly apologise in his statement.

Then again, sorry seems to be the hardest word.

Keep hearing on the radio that it's IOW this weekend so thought I'd fire up the clashfinder to see who's on... Fuck me that is terrible!! I mean seriously bad, like one of the worst festival lineups I have ever seen!

I get that there's mitigation due to Covid and all but it's just terrible. There are huge gaps between acts, tomorrow the stages don't start until 4pm. The third biggest billed stage is all cover bands!!!

Looks like a two, or even one, day festival that's been desperately stretched over an entire weekend.

Just had a look. Wow that's poor. Like, really poor.

And that's not even considering the fact that Razorlight are headlining the second stage

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
