2023 I reckon. Think more people would have an inkling for 2022 by now.

is she known for announcing dates WAY in advance ? Might be thinking of someone else.

The Europe stuff last time was pretty far in advance. Just depends if now this is maybe a limited set of dates around a Glasto appearance. Or if she is willing to do a one off.

It was right around this time of year that she announced the lover tour in 2019. We’re in the window for an announcement for sure.

Yeah but there arent any Euro fests to drop a poster for next year which forces the action of announcing surrounding dates. So either there is full confidence things can go on in 9 months or you keep waiting. They can just have holds on venues til you have to forcibly decide on giving up the dates so somebody else can book it.

Nah she could definitely announce a chunk at once. Quite a few right now have missing headliners.

I’m resigned to Billie playing. Otherwise Kendrick, Macca, Reg would be my trio.

I haven’t completely ruled out the three original headliners still being in the frame. Michael said recently that they’ve still got most of ‘the bands’ from 2020.

Could be that Neil’s info isn’t right (has happened before), or possibly Billie is a replacement for LDR, rather than Kendrick. Long shot I know

I'm inclined to think Neil's got this right, especially as he's had the Other headliner as part of the package too.

Yeah, I mean Billie, Kendrick, Taylor are the three headliners we all want. Objectively.

Paolo, Macca & someone I'm not arsed about is the dream for me. So any of Matt's "3 we all want" can fill that final slot.

If Dua headlines the Other, then she's 10000% nailed on to pop out for a Sunday night duet.

Maybe Relton will also bring out a few of the Lil Nas Xs and Young Thugs he genuinely loves and supports.

Then: pow, second encore, fry-up eating competition with his aul' mate Pete. Gonna be historical.

If Elton Brings out Young Thug I might cry

Beginning to think QOTSA will be removed from the bill. Was never announced and Homme is in the shit atm.

Wolf Alice, who we collectively sorta think might sub Other, would slot up into position very easily.

If they drop QOTSA then Royal Blood would, IMO, be the pick to step up. I had them down as a potential sub but would fit headlining Other opposite Billie pretty well.

Should have been their first pick for an other headline slot anyway tbh. Royal Blood would be a great other headliner for 2022. QOTSA are a great get, but I think bands like Royal Blood are the ones the festival should really be propping up.

Yeah, I know that, but there's a difference between circumstances in one specific court case and Homme doing a clear-the-air interview or press push. He fessed up when he kicked the photographer, iirc.

PR rulebook 101. You cultivate your public image while dealing with legal issues on the low.

Yeah, but when he kicked the female photographer in the head, didn't he, er, do it in front of a huge crowd of people?

    • Yeah so many of mine seem to be just France v Spain in one semi and England/Brazil v Argentina in the other. But the fact those combos are the obvious ones mean it feels unlikely that'll happen because in World Cup history, you very rarely end up with what pre-tournament looks like the obvious final 4. We all see teams outperform and underperform. Which one is the fall guy is a different matter.   I've said elsewhere that for me, there's a hierarchy of Spain, France and Argentina as the 3 strongest looking, then England and Portugal, then Brazil and Germany, but that overall, they'd be the 7 likeliest to win. So I dunno, maybe this will be the time the Netherlands avenge the failure of total football in 1974 and achieve what they couldn't achieve through whatever the f**k Nigel de Jong was with his 2010 final karate moves.
    • Oh I think Infantino should resign. His handling of the whole WC process has been an utter shitshow. But you know. That would require him having integrity or something.
    • Good Charlotte would be fine third down or subbing. If they can get a bigger sub and still get GC, they’ll play third down.

    • Nope, Sum 41 had already headlined second stage along with Rob Zombie and Slayer in 2017....are we saying that Rob and Slayer would be 4th down the Pyramid. The KSE are always predicted 3rd down, Skindred are given 3rd down and we think 7 years after a second stage headline with that genre very 'IN' they wouldn't get 3rd down.  Sum 41 did a last ever UK did that had Wembley Arena and not The 02 and it wasn't anywhere near the prices Good Charlotte is costing. Every act is going to do well on a final tour, GC have only just come back and in my opinion a shocking day of music overall for the return choice.    On Slam Dunk, firstly Sum 41 headlined in 2022 when festivals returned from the covid time out, every festival going sold out and some very quickly! Secondly, Slam Dunk in 2022 was not £150 for a day ticket. Also thirdly, Slam Dunk 2022 was a great lineup, this years was pants! I met two guys at RIP who said to me they think 2025 was more fitting for the anniversary lineup and they couldn't be more correct, in the very top lineups they've ever put out. Its not as plain and simple as you've put.
