Guess, there will be different mechanisms - i.e. on site vaccination at care homes and NHS staff vaccinated at work plus army vacination centres like the pop-up test centres?

Probably not for the Pfizer vaccine - the reason for the dedicated centres is that it needs specialist equipment for storage etc.

If the Oxford vaccine also makes it over the line, then that should be much easier to distribute via more normal channels.

So with that - if this is the only delivery mechanism it will take a year to vaccinate the full population.

They aren't going for full population though, only older age groups and vulnerable? So with that plus the Oxford one and the extra vaccination centres the first tranche will hopefully be done pretty quickly. Assuming no cock-ups of course!

still going up here .... from my tracking ... a few days and my area will top 100 cases per 100,000 ...... when not long ago we were low ....this is precisely the reason it needed to be a national lockdown ... although its to early to see here yet

I think that's what we'll see from areas that had lower cases like your area and the south.

we kept having it stressed by the local news that our cases were low ... if that lead to complacency im not sure .... probably were always going to rise anyway

Great news about the testing ... but what bit of rewarding people to stay at home are they failing to understand ?!!

Covid: Mass testing for 67 local areas in England

Possibly realised that starting it in the area they are least trusted and most hated wouldn't exactly give much data...
