The poster 2020

Anyone get the impression this was somewhat thrown together? Awful design and everyone is listed in alphabetical order. Seems perhaps they made a very recent decision to get it out there this week, and simply got the go ahead for those happy to just be on it? Would explain why it's in alphabetical order and missing the big guns like Aerosmith, Alicia Keys etc who may need special placement on the poster. Few bands on there really don't seem the kind to make the first poster - Lightning Seeds etc.

Maybe just me.

Wow, surprised to hear that in 2020, to be honest.  Fatboy is a Glastonbury staple, but taking up one of the headlining slots on Other?  Shocked.  He can easily pull the numbers though.  I expect he must be up against Macca perhaps.

Only 1 out of 6 acts occupying the top headline spots could even be considered close to a rock act. Must be something amiss? Maybe Pet Shop Boys to sub Taylor, then a Biffy or Foals to play opposite?

BBC has a bit more info

“US R&B stars TLC will make their debut, while Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will play immediately before Paul McCartney's Saturday night headline slot.

Pop icon Diana Ross has already been announced to play the Sunday afternoon "legend slot"; while festival favourites Dua Lipa, Pet Shop Boys and Fatboy Slim will headline The Other Stage - Glastonbury's second-biggest arena.”

1 minute ago, Hugh Jass said:

My only disappointment is the lack of surprises on there. Admittedly that is because we are utterly forensic in the build and can usually predict 90% of the poster before it drops.

If anything the surprises are the ones who are missing. And the ones who have snuck onto the poster. Lightning Seeds, Happy Mondays etc aren't the sort of contemporary or leftfield names that usually make up the poster.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
