Biggest band on the planet this time next year...what world are we living in here? Only the 3rd line-up on Lolla Paris, 4th down at Werchter.

Selling out arenas in this country, headlining the second biggest festival over here, just released an album to huge critical acclaim, making inroads in America and another album due to drop this year... They’re only going in one direction and it’s wilful ignorance to think they won’t be in the picture next year.

Well done. Because people earlier in the thread were showing photos of themselves being at the festival for their big birthdays, and I couldn’t.

well used to big televised shows...

a wealth of guests that they could bring out...

Look if this is just a ploy to make The Strokes seem better... well, it’s worked.

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
    • The Smashing Pumpkins are also a shout
