Nah, I dont expect The Eagles to play at all nor will be bothered if they dont. Even if I dont like the headliners Ill find something to watch so Im not all that worried.

Maibly just joking around, I havent listened to Wings all month but have been blasting a mixture of them, McCartney and The Beatles though.

I was just trying to make a joke about eagles having wings tbf.

That didn't happen at Leeds 2012 where the average age is generally lower than Glasto, it's almost certainly not gonna happen at Glastonbury.

Probably a good job as the amount of people that were there could have left the field empty for them lol. I loved it mind.

This fucking thread.

After reading the last 20 pages of wild speculation...

I also think it might be Madonna. EE did a redirect because everyone thought it was her already. I think the Macca rumors were another misdirect and he was never doing it.

The deception runs deep. Oh Emily, why do you play these games.

I don't recall the Cure crowd being big to start with though at Reading, not as small as Arcade Fire a couple of years before but I recall having plenty of space in the middle not miles back so I think most people there were Cure fans, I suspect they would have a much bigger crowd at Glasto anyway due to the different audience and it being the Pyramid so it probably would increase the chance of people leaving.. dodgy logic probably!

they can't sell out a 35,000 show in Scotland at the mo.

....and some of the tickets they have sold are because they were a two-day ticket that was the only way to get in for the Foo Fighters.

Haven't read last few pages, but understand Macca is out. Did Emily actually rule Madonna out or just say she would be amazing? Apparently she's up for doing a turn on eurovision this year, new album about to drop, I can see it happening. I know people have said about her fee, but just because that's her usual doesn't mean she's not flexible for right coverage..which she would get tv wise.

Well this thread changed overnight !

We've gone from the coolest NYC bands back to name calling and ridiculous statements about The Cure being bigger than The Eagles !

The Eagles = Boomers era.

The Cure = Middle aged people ( or gammon to some ) era.

The two shouldn't really be confused, except that to some they are all old and tories and fat and male and shouldn't be at Glasto as it's only for young hip people who know The Cure retrospectively.

And while we're on the subject of The Cure, isn't it about time they grew out of their EMO phase ?

At one point people were talking about her subbing.  If she plays though she’d be the one I’m most likely to see

That film has pumped up her appeal too. Lots of people who would never dream of going to a festival, but would watch it on TV, are over my facebook / twitter and loving her in it. (Which I deem a wide enough gauge of public opinion!!)

Stormzy, The Strokes, The Cure just doesnt feel right to me.

I dont believe they'll go into it without one massive headliner. Whether that's Gaga, Swift or some yet un thought of name.

It doesn't feel right to me either, but largely because both The Strokes and The Cure seem like "old" rather than current bands. Sadly I think it would be more believable if they just replaced one for 1975 or Arctics or something.

I'd like it to be Gaga for a bit of diversity/interest but won't hold my breath.

To be honest, there would be a big chance that the act to sub Stormzy is going to be bigger than Stormzy himself, his sub this year is massively bigger than him.

Yeah now it's said about what her show is I don't think Glastonbury book have that, I reckon they'll wait until a normal type of show to book her.

It would be the best of a situation now I reckon.

Fair point, though we all know what a hot potato the word "bigger" is on here. There's bigger though and then there's Queen! ?

Glastonbury have been making noise about female acts, I cant see it being 3 male headliners.

I'm hoping for Gaga. I've said I am definitely watching a Pyramid headliner this year. It was Macca, but that's gone for a Burton.
