2019 Headliners

This is based on the Bonnaroo info being correct (which also may be false) but this is what I think is going on.

Macca is over in the US and hes trying to cram in the dates... hes already done ACL and now supposedly hes doing Roo. I think they are trying to line things up with another fest... maybe outside lands or something that occurs after Glasto, and if he can grab a few mil hes going to postpone Glasto until next year, because hes not going to fly over to the UK just for one fest and then back to the US.

But I'm just guessing.

Basically I think he's still on the table for Glasto but is playing the field... I'm trying not to be too hopefully so I'm not devestated if hes not there.

It's Stormz, The Cure and Macca.

if you don't believe that you are going by twitter girl, which is fine, but it's bs.

because

its

Stormz, The Cure and Macca.

this is like Radiohead/Adele all over again (and I do love it.)

but

its Stormz, The Cure and Macca.

Someone would've heard something by now.

If people are correct then:

Stormzy, Liam Gallagher, Weezer, Beach Boys
?

The Cure, LDR, Dua Lipa

The Chemical Brothers

Macca, ?, George Ezra, Kylie

The Streets

If Weezer take Other then Beach Boys up one but they are going to sub Other if they do, otherwise I reckon they would just do two other festivals that weekend for the money.

don't think that's ever happened.

The who? Or is that a cheeky exception

(and don’t say that you considered the who because that’s cheating :P )

From what I can remember the who is the only headliner that has genuinely shocked me by coming out of nowhere

Yeah I guess that's easy switch around. I only think that makes me wonder Weezer on main is that Beach Boys can only play Friday and 4 male acts straight would be quite a lot. I think if they offered Weezer Other sub...Weezer know they won't headline it but Other sub that works out about right. So:

Stormzy, Liam Gallagher, Beach Boys

Wolf Alice, Jess Glynne

The Cure, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa

The Streets, Weezer

Macca, LDR, George Ezra, Kylie

The Chemical Brothers, Vampire Weekend

Didn’t Neil know about The Who back in March/April of that year and immediately discounted it?

Noely G potential pyramid sub.

feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but remember someone mentioning?

I'm unsure about that but if he does then LDR back to Saturday I guess. He's been very specific about the Friday slot, he probably knows his size if gone now but I reckon before unless he was asked to headline it I think he spends too much time being drunk over it to play. Obviously one of those two would be the one and tbh I think LDR would be less of a Pyramid sub choice for the Sunday crowd we'll say than Noel.

Has there been another headline act that’s been playing in the USA so close (26th June)  to the rumoured Glastonbury performance? I have serious doubts that’s realistic...

steptoe and sons 2013 June 20th. I looked at this earlier whilst bored at work

Also we shouldn’t go around referring to grown woman we don’t know as ‘girl’. Seems kinda patronising.

Nice try on this by the way dude. Even if everyone immediately ignored it!

I kind of believe it. Don't know why. Just seems very in keeping with what I expect from my Glastonbury headliners experience to have a nailed-on suddenly be discounted!

No it isn't. That was people trying to convince themselves their favourite band was playing and coming up with wild theories to believe it was possible.

This is something that nobody wants to happen but they're reluctantly thinking it could be true as it's come from several different angles.

And people have heard something by now, that's literally why it's being discussed.

outside of the twitter fiasco and Neil's Arctic monkeys info on what basis do people believe this is true?

The other person who posted in here saying they'd heard the same thing. And also someone on here who'd PM'd me stuff they've heard but doesn't want to post it publicly (I'm not gonna say who because obviously they don't want it posting everywhere).

That's two people in different places who've heard Macca has dropped out (one of them being in a band so obviously having some music industry connections, even if she hasn't got correct info through them), a poster from this site with proven decent info who'd heard someone else was headlining Saturday night, and Neil hearing Arctic Monkeys were approached to headline two weeks ago.

It's hardly mental to think that there could be something to all of that.

Must have missed something somewhere, because I was working on the assumption that Macca was Sunday, Bobby Smith and the boys on Saturday. Has something happened to rule The Cure out of Saturday?

Macca has a date in the US on the Wednesday right?

I believe a few bits and pieces came along putting Macca on the Saturday and The Cure on the Sunday, which definitely makes more sense I think.

    • Absolutely love her record, System. Definitely an album that rewards a bit of commitment.   She's right on my must-see list. Hoping she's in the Walled Garden, as I think her sound might be a bit muddy if she's early-ish in Far Out.   Ben
    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
