The forecast for tomorrow & Sunday looks mostly dry, and it's close enough that should be pretty accurate.  Even some sunshine tomorrow afternoon!  That should hopefully start to dry things out nicely.

It's really all down to the beginning of next week, beyond accurate forecast range... Could still dry out beautifully, could be more torrential downpours.  Who knows?

I suspect you're right. We would need extraordinary luck to get enough sun for the site to dry out properly by Wednesday.

it's too late. That clay takes an age to properly firm up. This has been the wettest lead-in since 2007 as far as I can remember.

If it rains: swamp.

Still, the forecasts are better than they were. :)

It dried out OK in 2014 by the Sunday hadn't it? And that was after a downpour on the Saturday and everyone there to churn it up

This is my worry.

Meh, once the sky stops chucking it down and they throw some bark chips at it, it gets pleasantly spongy pretty damn quick.

It takes no time at all to dry up. Even in 2014 I only remember clearing mud off the hubby a wheelchair once. It's an absolute bitch when that happens but as long as there's no rain the next day we're golden!

Last year on the Thursday night we struggled to get up the hill by John Peel stage, sliding about in our wellies. By morning it was rock hard again and trainers weather.

flip flop weather* :)

I'm pretty sure there hadn't been loads of rain in the weeks before in 2014.

As far as I can recall, all of the worst years for mud of the 30 I've been going have been when there's been a lot of rain beforehand.

Yeah, 2007 was immediately preceded by the floods just north, which filled the water table to overflowing, 2011 wasn't bad in the scale of things but again we had weeks of on and off rain in the run up, including some heavy stuff like we've had the last couple of days or so in the week before hand.  The dry April and May should do the job, I think.

There was weeks of rain in the lead up to 2011, but as soon as the rain stopped I'd say it was about a 36 hour dry out time.

Friday night was a clusterfuck, Saturday night was lovely.  Not quite arses on ground til the following morning, but no longer claggy, slippy or difficult to walk in (but still patches of wet ground like around leftfield).

    • I think it's just a slight shift in target audience of the festival, Andy also booked FOB    A lot of young people (me included) are nostalgic for the 2000's pop punk and nu metal rather than the 80's legacy bands    It's just the festival moving with the times I think Andy would of done the same    Although they are still booking some legacy acts like GNR but that doesn't seem to have gone well ticket sales wise
