I love how people in this thread are choosing to believe entirely different narratives. Why is the idea of blazing sunshine slipping away each day?

Seems to me that the forecasts are improving over the past few days. It looked pretty bad a few days ago but it's looking much more promising now.

Isn't Sunday's Countryfile basically recorded today, so whatever their verdict is is based on today's charts anyway?

Personally think we'll have a mixed bag of sunshine and showers but enough sunshine for the ground to stay pretty solid underfoot. I'd take that right now.

There is a risk of the odd shower or two on Wednesday

There looks like there could be a spell of rain or showers around on Thursday and/or Friday

Jackets, jumpers or an extra blanket will be needed amid the rainy spells and at night.

The Sunday into Monday Met Office forecast is what to focus on for accuracy.

The current SW high and NW low pressure battle needs to run its course over the weekend; we will then suffer the consequences, good or bad. :)

The Weather for the Week Ahead section is recorded separately, and is broadcast every evening on the BBC News Channel.

You can watch the latest one here.

Countryfile is simple a slightly more in-depth weather forecast from the BBC/ Metoffice people. They won't tell us anything that the metoffice website doesn't 15 minutes before it's broadcast.

That said it is a fun tradition.
