You'll get this from MetCheck. Dramatic wind, rain, temperature. Drastically different weather for places five miles apart. Heavy rain with 0% cloud. Wouldn't bother with them.

It's only a light shower on Friday. That's pretty likely on Thursday or Friday in my opinion, but nothing to worry about.

Rain doesn't bother me too much, it's having to wear wellies / boots for long periods that I don't like.  How much rainfall does it take to create a mudbath?  

This year I'm thinking of using the lock-ups for the first time to store my wellies, don't know why I haven't before, do the queues to access the lock-ups take long?

It can get muddy quite easily in areas of high foot traffic (bottom of the Park for example), but they seem to be getting better and better at putting metal paths/bark down which helps a lot. I think the drainage is so much better than it was that big floods are unlikely although some of these forecasts suggest that it's going to be tested more this year than it has done in the past.

 

I think it's too unknown at the moment. Hopefully there will be some more solid information after the weekend when it might actually impact what I take with me (I think I'd always pack for all outcomes regardless come to think of it). Until then I'm going to enjoy the BBC optimism!

Firstly Metcheck has a shockingly bad record for any forecast beyond a day or two.

Secondly Google "Metcheck paedophile" and you'll find out about Andrew Bond, who set it up. I don't know about current ownership, but it's either a convicted paedophile, or it's someone who bought the business from a convicted paedophile. I wouldn't have anything to do with them if they could accurately predict weather for a year.
