  1. I'm not sure if you've been before but future additions will be a lot more upcoming than established. There are a decent amount of smaller stages that have bands on the rise (and a couple that are mainly cover bands/genre DJs). All of the acts announced so far are on the top 2 of around 10 live stages.
  2. 2024 is looking like my first 2000 Trees. I've liked the look of the last couple of line ups and want to try more small/mid sized fests. I have a few questions just to know what to expect: What is the demographic like? I get the impression it'll be pretty mixed due tot he line ups What are the campsites like? Are the facilities decent? Do they tend to be noisy? I can see that you can take your own booze in - is it an arena style festival where at some point you are forced to use bars or is it a free for all once you get in? Also anything else interesting that you think first timers might want to know about? Thanks in advance.
  3. They've done it before but not for a while, have gaps in their tour for the Friday and Sunday next year. I wouldn't say no chance.
  4. +1 for Last Dinner Party, there is some footage online that makes them look like they have a decent presence on stage. At the other end of the spectrum I'm looking forward to Deekline a DnB/Jungle DJ and Producer on Thursday night.
  5. It is included in a recent email they have sent out: 🚨 We're so excited to welcome back all of your favourite stages and areas to the island this year 🚨 Cirque de la Quirk | Electro Love 80’s & 90’s | The Hipshaker Lounge | The Intoxicated Tea Rooms | Kashmir Cafe | Kidzone | Octopus' Garden | Old Mout Kiwi Camp | Platform One Stage | River Stage | The Strongbow Yard | This Feeling Stage The Last Dinner Party also added to Big Top line up
  6. Got 1 from 2 of these. I thought the song choices felt deliberate for some reason. I'll be listening out for similar clues in the future! The line up has enough for us to be getting tickets this week but will keep fingers crossed for a decent fleshing out of the undercard in future announcements.
  7. They have multiple dates in California that weekend. Even if Travis has started flying again I doubt that they'd pop over for an IOW sized pay check
  8. Delivery fee is a bargain though
  9. With Pulp reforming next year could we see them back at IOW? I remember enjoying them very much before Foos in 2011
  10. Your suggestions are far more suited to me than what ever the line up probably is - but I think it is unlikely that AM would do IOW on the come back, I think they are tipped for Glasto but not impossible for them to do both. I don't think Radiohead are showing any signs of activity at the moment - it could be more likely that The Smile would be there but even then it would seem like a bit of an odd booking. You'd see me front and centre of either though. You're probably right about Robbie, he certainly has enough hits to do a full headline slot. In my head Royal Blood are no bigger than Foals but both would be great.
  11. They played Killers and Robbie Williams as the fireworks were going off at the end of Muse. At the time I thought they could be foreshadowing two of next years big acts. Is Robbie the right size to co headline? Genuinely no idea if he would be too proud or expensive to be on before a dance headliner like Chems or if his stock has fallen so far that it'd be seen as scraping the barrel.
  12. Fair points! He is pretty bang on for the IOW target audience too. I just think as an artist he might want to seek other opportunities before coming back but who knows.
  13. I'd be surprised but elated with QotSA and/or Blur but I don't see either happening, as they would probably choose something higher profile/more lucrative for their return(s). If the Chems are there then I will be too, even if just for a day. Foals would be awesome too, and I could see Fender coming back to headline but might be a bit too soon for Ezra?
  14. I'm not going over until tomorrow but have a wonderful weekend team!
  15. For those looking to visit T&C for a reason; I recommend The Black Eagles. Amazing acrobats with 6 performances scheduled over the weekend so there's no excuses about clashes!
  16. I avoid wellies as often as possible, but will be taking some waterproof walking boots regardless of the forecast. With is being so dry this week, the odd showers shouldn't make things muddy, the worst spots will be around water taps that will have nothing to do with rain.
  17. There are designated quiet and family fields, so basically not them. It might be luck of the draw who is around you though.
  18. Be sure to liberate a tinny or two for the bus ride and take them upstairs with you
  19. Reminds me of 2011 when I was in the park in a queue to get into the secret bar, probably about 2am, no idea what night. Got talking to the group in front of us before realising one of them was either Dick or Dom from Dick and Dom. I can never remember which one is which. He and his friends were sound, we chatted for about 10 mins and someone running the queue to get in came out and recommended we found somewhere else to dance as it was going to be ages before we got in. At this point Dickordom stated to us all, 'don't worry I've got this' to us in the queue, turned around to the worker of the queue (and I can't stress this enough, he was clearly taking the piss out of himself) said 'Don't you know who I am?', with a small smirk and fantastic timing the worker replied 'Yes... Fuck off'. Everyone had a good laugh, including said worker and Dickordom and we all went on our merry way.
  20. The app has now been updated with the set times for next weekend
  21. The queue looked massive on the Monday when I joined it at about peak time last year (around 10 30/11 form memory) but I was on a bus and on my way within 10-15 mins. Was really surprised at how well organised it was and how many people they were managing to get off the site so quickly. I can't really help with the rest. I'm sure there are cash points on site if you do need them albeit at a charge I'd have thought.
  22. "Here's your complete full Main Stage & Big Top #IOW2022 lineup "
  23. Looks like they are starting to drip feed the stage times which will be useful to see who clashed and if there are any gaps left in the schedule.
  24. Welcome! The Co op can be a decent option; it might be a bit more expensive than a normal supermarket but it will lighten the amount you have to carry onto site until you set up the tent (least favourite part of the festival for me).
