Adele/Muse/Coldplay say DM

Honestly? Do you not think The Stone Roses smashing it at Glastonbury would be one of the most talked about sets ever? Adele couldn't get anywhere near that kind of cache. I think she be about as good as Beyoncé ie fine for 20 minutes with your girlfriend before you get fidgety, then pissed off and then drag her round to the other double quick to watch QotSA

if the Roses were headlining Glastonbury in 2012 after they first announced their reunion, then yeah, it'd be some way comparable, but now after they've already played numerous shows and festivals? not so much - Adele, the biggest artist in the entire world right now, would be a much bigger deal

This sadly, whether you like her or not she's the biggest right now.. I can't see much change in the lineup if I'm 100% honest id say if anything Muse would be the only one not to be booked out of all these 3.

I'm thinking that Adele is probably happening - was reading through John Giddings' twitter feed last night and saw this reply to someone... Do you reckon he knows?

Something similar to:

Pyramid -

Muse, Ellie Goulding

Adele, Faithless

Coldplay, NGHFB

Other -

Disclosure, The 1975

TDCC, Imagine Dragons

The Prodigy, Sam Smith

With Bloc Party playing the Friday night in the JP

I don't think TDCC would get Other header but I had forgot about Imagine Dragons, easily a sub Other but 3rd down pyramid is probably more likely I reckon. They would fit 3rd on Muse day quite comfortably actually. Good luck in getting Sam Smith to sub Other, he subbed T & V on main last time, he'd sub Pyramid easily.

An Adele/Smith combo would make sense. Everyone can dress as James Bond.

Probably true about Adele and hype. But for festival goers as you say there would be far more hype excitement expectation and good will towards The Stone Roses. It's an intergenerational thing with the Roses where as Adele is a camping chairs, rugs and hampers kind of deal.

Bang on

info freako awful.

Heh!

I'm glad it's not just me though. What a dull fucking trio.

That said, I am having to do painting all fucking day so I'm especially fucking titsed off. I am swiftly approaching near-Russy levels of misanthropy.

I read somebody on here saying before that Faithless sounded shite recently? Is that right or just a one off? I can't imagine how, it's not as if Maxi sings really.

I saw them this summer. I already saw them 2 times before (2005 and 2010 I think) and it's still good. Maxi can't sing but he never really did. Band is good, Sister Bliss still plays that cheezy synth riffs. That's about it

now I didn't say it was good, but I can imagine most of the people I have listed to have high slots!

True. I was shooting the messenger sisco...

...merely swallowing my own vom at the mews delivered.

Your prediction is the second most worrying thing I've seen today. Albeit a lonnnnnnng way second after reading Rubenz link to the Coldplay Forum in the Coldplay thread.

id take that - my usual relaxed Sunday night would be much changed though with coldplay and Noel!

Would be my first year of all 3 pyramid headliners I think

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
