fence is moving along nicely, about to head behind strummerville... I keep getting "she'll be coming round the mountain when she comes" stuck in my head when I see the progress...

Every time I check and see it moving along I have "The fence, the fence, the fence is on fire" in my head.

Great, now I'm going to have that in my head the ENTIRE FESTIVAL!! And probably forever! :P

Haha brilliant, every time you, and me, see that damned fence at the festival it will be going through our heads!  I just hope I don't have too much to drink one day/night and actually start singing it!

Surely the Other stage roof will be lifted today.

That's what I thought, but looks as if all the activity this morning is inside the pyramid. Looks like the stage decking is going in. I wonder if they will move on to the other stage roof after that, as it doesn't appear to have anyone working on the other stage at the moment....

They didn't lift it until much closer to the festival last year - I think I read it was due to the type of roof it is - they can build all the tech stuff on it while it is lowered and then just shift the lot up.  Im guessing the tech stuff is hired  in and wont be on site until as close to the event as possible.

I saw a very nerdy video about this on youtube, I'll go and look for it...

Here you go

Yeah, I enjoyed it far more than I probably should have.

That guy did make me laugh. I want his job though.

Me too. At this point I'm just clinging to anything and everything, I'm probably becoming a right bore about it too. Wife's first time, I've waxed lyrical but I don't think I've bigged it up.. She'll have to see for herself...

Things are going slow down on the farm today with regards to seeing the site develop, apart from the fence which is flying round that hill, looks like the left is going to get round before the right starts.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
    • I was having a tired day, my apologies 😂
    • I was there with Oxfam too! I got earlies so it was probably me who registered you on arrival 😀
    • Slightly unexpected, but Shambala is discounted on TfG.   Works out at about £215 after discount which is about a third off.
