And people have concluded that because of Zane's "headliner" thing, it must be Glasto. And yet there's still Bestival, T, and others where she could crop up - if Zane was actually ever on the ball with his 'headliner' thing.

She might be doing Glasto, but peeps are reading waaaaay too much into that interview.

Well didn't you say you thought the t headliners were mumfords, Kasabian and libertines?

I can't see her returning to lattitude, and she will 100% not be at v festival as their headliners have been leaked by the sun.

She won't headline lattitude either, and I can't see her choosing Bestival due to her having an album in the 1st of June and doing no UK festivals between then and september. Don't get me wrong neil but it seems to me you are trying to dodge this a lot :P in denial that it's a bit more than a blind rumour...

Lol. They really weren't. Their big hit at the time was "Have A Nice Day". An inferior Foos is a better comparison.

Like it or not, Florence has buzz about her. Foos will put on a good show and are absolutely massive.

There'll be great acts elsewhere on the bill. If Iggy turns up - and I reckon he will - then that's a legend far superior to Rod.

Can't believe I'm defending this trio (I'll see Foos at most), but I really don't think it's as bad as that 2002 lot. Like then, I'll mostly be at other stages.

Let's all hope they manage to bag AC/DC or Mr Purple and everyone can be happy. Apart from those who won't.

stereophonics were huge at one point, I assume it was 2002. Definitely on a par with arctic monkeys I reckon. But yeh, they can also be filed alongside foo fighters. All 3 acts are dull plodding guitar acts. I dont think you can really say one is better or worse than the other. They are all terrible.

Iggy is much better, but rod is "bigger".

It's all pretty irrelevant really, as like you I didnt see any of them in 2002 and I wont see any of them in 2015!

Only prince can save this shambles.

My take on Florence is exactly that - just an opinion. It ain't that she's "not big enough" - it's that she's "not good enough".

If Florence is the best they can do this year they've failed. She could easily headline the Sat on the other stage or play second fiddle to someone on the Pyramid. The clamour for her to headline is premature. She ain't got the tunes. The gawdawful "You Got the Love" cover will end up being one of the highlights of her set. Rubbish.

He was a fair way off saying it with any sort of certainty. And I don't think that's how it'll turn out either. Not much to base that on, other than pure guesswork.

My guess is that Mumford and Sons will play Summer Sessions. I reckon that Kasabian are a shout now though.

Mumfords is the only one i'm unsure of.

If Flo is booked as headliner, it's unlikely that she'd have passed that info onto a journo or Zane.

i disagree.

my ex was a researcher with a national radio station here in Ireland and was regularly told not to ask about Glastonbury/certain festivals that were yet to be announced, from acts that were in for an interview, either by the band themselves, or the publicist/tour manager that was with them.

I'd be pretty certain that if a headliner was in the BBC studio, they or their team would have mentioned that they can't talk about it, as they would know it was a possible/likely question.

as for Zane, the fact that he shouted it out the way he did at the end seems like it was something that he knew he wasn't supposed to ask about but decided to be a bit cheeky. if he hadn't been told that he shouldn't ask it, then he probably would have dropped it into the middle of the interview as a normal question.

just announced on shangrila fb page that there is a line up announcement coming soon, sorry can't do link as on phone.:-) I don't know if its just them or the whole festival

Same thing happened last year if I remember correctly. Shangri-La area announcement followed a few weeks later by the proper lineup.

That makes a lot of sense, listening to the interview it felt quite restricted regarding what they discussed.

Nobody's really campaigned for any sort of 'inspiring' headliner that would be completely out of the box.

There was a small campaign for Foals :P

Next year next year...

Are you Florences manager and trying to get her the gig or something? :P

And? Nothing wrong with that trio at all.

Its a fairly shite trio and I'd likely see 2/3 of them!

If you (and others) truly believe that then this festival is on its last legs for me personally

That would constitute the most uninspiring trifecta of headline acts in the festivals history more likely.

2002: Coldplay, Stereophonics, Rod Stewart. Festi still going strong 13 years later.

And Eavis has recently said the focus on the festival is shifting to making other areas stronger because the pool of top tier headliners is getting smaller year on year. Glastonbury is about more than just the headliners.

I know ACDC are still listed as a Rumour but they dont seem to be mentioned in this thread at all anymore? What news have I missed?

Foos seem nailed on, Coldplay are a TBC on here, and the third headliner is likely to be Florence and the Machine (or possibly Taylor Swift). AC/DC don't do two nights on the run so their tour dates pretty much rule them out

If I understand correctly, their tour dates leave them in exactly the right place at exactly the right time, but they rarely play multiple nights in a row, and the dates would require that of them for Glastonbury.
