Had Chicago tickets in the basket this morning - three failed credit card payments, a failed debit card payment (error code U533), and then PayPal failing.

PayPal, specifically, saying it's due to the billing address. I've bought countless tickets for the US in the past from my bank cards - this has never been an issue.

Mind-boggling. Waiting to hear back from my bank + TM support, but I suspect it'll be nonsense.

If ever there was a sign... 🤦‍♂️

A word from Dublin. I tried and tried but it wasn't to be. At one point I had a €550 ticket in the basket, but couldn't justify the price. Instead, I did an extra shift at work this weekend, so as to not sit at home moping. On Sunday I finished work at 20:30, and it was a beautiful evening so I decided to cycle over to Croke Park. I was one of the many standing outside the stadium, singing along. There was a really nice atmosphere; all easy-going. I tried two spots. In the first the singing was so loud I couldn't hear the band too well. Then I found a quieter street, with a smaller number of people standing around; some folks sitting out in their front gardens. I heard the last eight songs and saw the fireworks.
I had to be in town again yesterday and the city centre was still awash with Oasis T-shirts. And an explosion of happy posts on social media, from the sign language interpreter going viral to the gardaí posting what a wonderful weekend it was. I am not exaggerating when I say these concerts have really lifted people's spirits. And very much a cross-generational audience. It's the reunion music didn't realize it needed.

This is mad. Must be over 1000 people there - never seen something like that for a gig before - is it a regular thing that im just not aware of?

There were loads. There are many approach roads to Croke Park and there were people at all of them. I was on my bicycle so went to find a quieter spot, as I actually wanted to hear the band.
It's something people do at gigs, but usually only a small number. I think with Oasis it has been happening everywhere. I saw reports from Manchester. It was just so hard to get tickets for these shows, and for people with ordinary salaries the ticket price was prohibitive, unless you were lucky enough to get face value or those last minute restricted view tickets (I tried that too....).

Was at Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday evening. I was completely blown away - probably the best gig I've ever been to.

I don't think there exists another band that can deliver a 24 song playlist of wall-to-wall hits like them. It was unreal and so well paced as a set. Absolutely loved it.

I think when you catch a big band/artist doing a greatest hits set, it feels different to when you catch them on an album tour (unless you are really looking for deep cuts). Blur's pyramid headline set was the same, wall to wall hits, Pulp this year, ditto the Stones (saw them on the 40 licks tour as well and it was just one banger after another), McCartney could do multiple nights of wall to wall hits, U2 can easily bang out a set of back to back bona fide hits if they chose to, Coldplay etc etc. I walked away from Ash at Avalon this year thinking, crikey, I forgot how many great songs they had (not that I'm comparing them to this Oasis tour!)...Having said all that, brother in law was at the Saturday show and said they were awesome (and he's not given to over-praising anyone).

Listening to Liam and Noel at these gigs, they’re genuinely loving it and almost making peace with some things they’ve said and done before.

I think they’ll take up a Glasto 2027 offer to make amends for 2004 too. Say what you want but they both do love making and performing music, and are nowhere near too old. Im pretty sure they’ll be Saturday slot and happy to do it.

That was sh*t too.

They always seem to blow the big gigs though. Noel has admitted that himself. Maybe they just don't get the same buzz from a neutral crowd. Glastonbury atmosphere probably wouldn't even be as good as Gallagher hill

I think with social media plugging the gigs everywhere this year, you’d have near an Elton size crowd. One of those “need to be there” headliners.

What is making me laugh about these gigs is the rest of the band doing city tours with barely anyone noticing/bothering them. Probably the dream situation.

From Bonehead’s Instagram page, him, Andy and Gem are having the best time. Joey makes the occasional cameo in his photos, too.

This is one of the Manchester dates on that leaked Europe and UK part 2 list that went round the other week.

Very strange, must be close to an announcement if those dates and an EU tour does happen now.

That Rolls Royce in a swimming pool stunt in Plymouth (?) is rumoured to have something to do with it?
