Went to one of the Wembley shows and had a great time but there certainly seems to be a bit of emperors new clothes with many peoples reviews, I don't mean just here but in general. They were good and so they should be for the price they charge. I think I paid around £168 a ticket, good seats and so can almost justify the price but still think that price is stupidly expensive and its the most I have ever paid for a ticket. I must say I had better gigs from others for much cheaper ticket prices.

Not getting sucked in to the hype, it was the best bits of Liams & Noels shows i.e the run of Oasis songs they both do stuck together. Great show but really the plaudits they are getting are a little over the top. Wish I had tickets to more shows as its a cracking night out but feel many are getting a little over excited about how good they are. Would it make my top 100 gigs, yes but bearing in mind its my most expensive it would not be amongst the very best.

Really wish I felt the same way as others but as much as I love them they ain't no Cure or even House of Love for those old Creation fans. Will be trying for tickets if they play next year but the price tag will be important as to how keen I am to buy.

Still got nothing for the US gigs I'm out there for next week. On the off chance anyone hears of anything, I'd be very grateful.

Looking for:

one for Chicago (Aug 28th)
one for New Jersey, either date (Aug 31st, or Sep 1st)

I foolishly passed up two opportunities for seats in NJ a while back, in the second and third tier, thinking a standing ticket would come up - now I'm staring down the barrel of sitting outside with some overpriced cans.

I bet production holds will be released on day of show.

the thing is they can very well do the code only sales for this. you cannot access the ticket pages. they just say ''sold out'' and thats it. has to be done through a diff portal. itll be madness if nothing pops up online but they maybe do sales at each stadium to keep resellers at bay.

I'm baffled why they haven't opened the Ticketmaster resale. Contacted them twice but the response was just waffle.

You reckon there's a chance of that, some go on sale at the box office on the day?

Agree with this 100%

Can’t help but feel Manchester was probably better, but wasn’t even close to being one of the best things I’ve ever seen.

Bonehead has said August 2nd was the best one but I also agree it was the best gig I've been to. LP at Wembley gor me was better, I'm also a bigger fan. I think Liam at Manchester Cricket Ground was as good as this, if not better due to my position. The Killers at Coventry was easily as good. It's not a definite in my top 3 big outdoor/stadium gigs.

I'm inclined to agree to an extent with this and they're one of my favourite bands. Murrayfield on Saturday has a claim to being the best gig I've ever been too for numerous reasons (electric crowd, hit after hit, watching one of my favourite band with my Dad who rarely gigs etc) but I would struggle to put Oasis in the top 5 bands I've seen in the last fortnight.

Had people almost confronting me for having the audacity to say I thought that they were limited musically and that Liam (whilst better than he has been) still isn't a great singer.

Still, an unbelievable night to be part of something so incredible and if anyone is half offered the chance to get a ticket I would still recommend they ripped their hand off for it.

I see both sides to this. I went second night in London and absolutely loved it. I had seen them a few times in the 2000s when they maybe were not at the top of their game.

I feel these gigs just hit the mark as a whole event. Both support bands get the crowd going with big hits. I think the sun has been beaming for them all. For me I went with my best mate, brother and partner. So many memories kicking back in and making new ones.

I've seen better bands live I know that but as an overall experience nothing has topped it. Plus the crowd everyone in the same boat. I was expecting more w*nkers to be honest

I went to both the Cardiff and Wembley shows, and for me, Oasis have been a huge part of my life, my first gig of theirs back in 2000 is literally the reason I started going to concerts. When the July shows happened, I honestly felt like they were the best gigs I’d ever been to, far better than any I saw them play in the 2000s. I can see how, if you don’t go to gigs often, it’s easy to think this is the absolute pinnacle. For a lot of people there, it was something they never thought they’d get to see, which adds to the “best ever” feeling.

That said, I do think the "experience" is getting mixed up with the actual "show". Musically, they were great, no doubt about that, but from a pure musicianship or production perspective, I’ve seen stronger performances, even this year.

What made these nights special was the atmosphere. I don’t think I’ve been to a gig in years where there was such a buzz from the very first song. At Wembley I went solo, and the people around me, couples, big groups, put their arms around me and made me feel included. I’ve never had that happen before at a show on my own. Our seating block was one huge party for strangers.

So yeah, if you’re not a massive Oasis fan and you go to a lot of gigs, I get where you’re coming from. I’ve been to “better” shows, but as an overall experience, those two nights will be hard to beat.

It’s always a combination of factors.  The band, the venue, the occasion, the people around you, who you’re with.

McCartney at Glastonbury in 2022 was one of the best nights of my life.  Was his show better or worse than a normal McCartney presentation, or was I with my wife, on the front row barrier, at Glastonbury of all places, the first one after a horrid global pandemic?  Same at Liam’s Knebworth shows a fortnight earlier - everyone was so happy to be there, and that made all the difference.

These Oasis shows are the band feeding off the crowd, feeding off the band, off the crowd… with parents taking their kids, with 40 somethings reliving their youth, with the teenagers having their own versions of Maine Road or whatever. with a rock & roll grudge seemingly mended, playing all the classic songs, looking happy to be there…

I considered going to Murrayfield ticketless, joining the crowd on the steps of the tram station or in adjacent Roseburn Park, doing our own ‘Gallagher Hill”. Eventually I found myself too demotivated to do that and ended up staying at home. Never mind, I have seen them a few times in the 90s and 2000s.

Even if Oasis extend the reunion activities into 2026 and beyond, there won’t be as much hype and enthusiasm surrounding them as this year. They might get some backlash even — “Oh no, not them again”, “another money grab”, “I won’t go this time”, “the show isn’t as exciting as last year” etc.

The only possible chance they could stir up a genuine fever would be a Pyramid headliner 2027 perhaps.

It’s baffling Ticketmaster uk never lifted the code-regulation all the way.

Out of curiosity, I want to hear from anybody who managed a ticket at the box office on show day if at all for future reference. I know, if there is, I would kick myself, “why didn’t I go there and try?”🤣

It's subjective so you can't tell people they're going over the top in their assessment of the gig. I'm 40 years old, a big Oasis fan and i saw them first time round. I went to Heaton Park for the first night on my own and that was the best gig of my life for various reasons.

Yes it is very subjective and in general I take the opions of efestival posters seriously as I know they attend plenty of gigs/festivals and have plenty to bench mark against. Maybe it's me or I caught them on an off night but just seemed like a very good show to me.

I have had a number of people tell me that the gig they attended was the best ever, when their gig list was about a dozen gigs although pretty major gigs such as Springstein, Madonna, Queen, Swift etc.  I know people gutted they missed out on tickets yet I don't ever really remember them being big fans in the past or ever attending many concerts. To me its coming across as an event to be seen to have attended as they are the best gigs ever.

Anyway, glad that these shows seemed to bring so much joy to so many people. Although, it still seems odd to me that they are getting so much universal praise from almost ever one who attended. Maybe, I shoud duck out of the love in on this thread and wish everyone going to future gigs or trying for tickets the best of luck.

People pulling out the "emperor's new clothes" trope when they don't like something

Frinkiac - S04E03 - EVERYONE IS STUPID EXCEPT ME.

I do love Oasis and did not come here to knock them. I don't look at threads of artists I don't like, what would be the point of that?

I thought the show was great, I just slightly doubt that one set of concerts could have the same huge positive effect on so many people. Anyway, will not spoil the over positive vibs on this thread anymore.

I think it's about what it means to us at the time. Heaton Park surrounded by my partner, brother and 5 of my best friends in the sun (when only 3 of us had seen them before too) was easily the best gig experience I've ever had and I was blown away by the performance too.

Don't know about that!

There's a lot of folk who want to see them this year, who can't get tickets.

And lot who have been this well who might be up for something epic like Knebworth, with more support acts.

Could do with mixing up the setlist, mind. (For better or worse, there must a reasonable chance of some new recordings.)

    • That's the festival apart fay tickets in some form sold out.
    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.
