A friend was at Toronto last night and described it as a religious experience.

I've just seen a video right now of them at the Rogers Stadium and obviously you can hear the band but its just full of phones, the atmosphere looks dead anywhere but the front. You can actively see the crowd are barely singing and its not like its a bad view in the video. If you compare that video to Heaton and Wembley its very clear.

I've seen two in fact now, comments in there very much of the same view and suggesting now compare that with Edinburgh and Croke Park. With others saying, doesn't quite hit the same does it?, everyone looking at it can't be wrong.

But there is also a case, if you're absent from the UK gigs then there isn't any level to compare to, though there is enough footage around to hear.

I got sorted with a standing ticket for face for Chicago, after flying over ticketless. Buzzing, will report back on the atmosphere.

Still on the lookout for MetLife.

Still finding it all a bit surreal.

I know Matt Morgan spilled on why there's been no setlist changes, but honestly did expect a tweak or two for America.

Noel just seems to like it the way it is. Knows the order, knows they're well-drilled on it.

Add the fact they were never ones to change a setlist about too much, if at all. Not sure why anyone thought it would be different 16 years later?

They did tend to tweak a little between continents and legs, from memory. Think there was the expectation they might have pulled a few swaps. (Fun fact: The Shock of the Lightning is one of three hits they had in the US by way of a top hundred chart berth.)

Im hoping you did not get screwed over by what Soldier field just did with front standing.

So of f**king course in America they screwed up how front standing was going to work at Soldier Field. Tickets were color coded either red or gold. red was front standing, gold was rear standing. People queued up all day to try to get front standing wristbands only for a good majority of them to be turned away due to the incorrect color on their ticket. Nobody was told thats how it was going to work. The staff did not inform everyone in the queue this is how it would be. so gates opened and people got sent into the front or the back. totally embarassing. the front standing area is pretty damn empty at this current moment with oasis due in under an hour. damn shame. in Toronto people found out it was first 5000 people got front standing wristbands and so they adjusted accordingly. in chicago everyone was in the dark. so stupid. the bands gonna go on a f**king tear if they see it that empty. ny and la cannot have that kinda sh*t happen. friends who are there say the vibes are great so thats promising.

and update. so it looks like they did the same thing as they did for the uk stadium shows. they did a lottery for front and rear. except here they didnt tell anyone that it was happening. so people queued up for no reason. bummer. wonder if resale might shift on standing now for the next shows. also tonight the production was slightly different because theyre having 5 shows at Soldier field over the next week so its gotta be a certain way. the screens werent what they had everywhere else.

I'm afraid I did, re standing.

My understanding is in the lead up some people's tickets were turned red. Others gold. Those with red allowed in the pit, others - behind the barrier.

A bit sh*t. Ended up with a similar view to Heaton Park, as we were just behind the barrier. Not the end of the world - but yeah, caught off guard. Loads were around me. I wouldn't mind but there was so much space in the pit.

Gig was special. The locals were up for it, helped by a few from the North West of England next to me (you can't travel far). I was blowing out of my arse by Bring It On Down.

Special times. Operation MetLife still rolls on..

yeah. communication was lacking. maybe they wanted to not alert resellers about font and rear standing and get some extra money out of it. Its still tbd on metlife. ny and la both have red and gold tickets current for standing but its unclear what the procedure will be. hopefully clarity arrives for ny in the next couiple of days.

Interesting. Can you link me to where you're seeing the gold and red stuff for NY, please?

Will be fascinating to see who managed to pull it off in the end.

Was discussing in another thread who may get the tender for Roundhay Park - I could imagine SJM moving to plant shows there, to be fair. Would be a hell of a booking if they got them in - no chance you'd canibalise against a bunch of nights at the Etihad either, given demand is there.
