  1. Well, I will. But as a family we're now talking about other plans for the summer.
  2. Talking of clashes, I should add that I didn't actually see all the 30+ I highlighted pre-festival in 2022. And the thing about the 11 this year is that literally none are absolutely must-sees for me. Fairly sure it's just coincidence that the line-up is not not, er, lining up with my personal tastes. Hope so, anyway.
  3. I'm giving up my 3 x adult tickets (and 2 x kids places) for what would have been my tenth Glastonbury. I was borderline, mainly due to complications with kids getting time off school. Line-up has decided it. Don't have a massive problem with headliners - DL and Coldplay obviously family friendly. But I counted just 11 acts I want to see. Two years ago it was 30. Probably just a co-incidence. (Or maybe the delayed 2022 was super-good due to Covid?) Next year could be great for me, if stars align. Anyway, hope everyone who goes this year has a great time. I'll be back for the autumn ticket bunfight!
  4. I feel for you. Sorry. (Not sorry)
  5. Your crowd knows there are 50+ stages, right?!
  6. Have we done the Pink dates? 24 June – Liverpool 25 June – Liverpool 28 June – Glasgow 29 June – Glasgow (30 June - Glastonbury Festival?) 3 July – Bern

    Lana Del Rey Curfew

It looked like his costume didn't turn up? Boom-tish!
  8. I've changed to a 'yes' now - there are too many of them. Based on (not) seeing McCartney etc last year, and TV coverage this year.
  9. This. People are definitely forgetting how.... different it can be in bad weather.
  10. Definitely no Springsteen! He stuck to the hits, and people didn't wander off through boredom.

    Lana Del Rey Curfew

Read somewhere that Eavis/organisers have to pay a fine to Mendip Council if they break curfew - AND offer an explanation to the licence review board. That makes sense. If it was just the former, it would happen regularly, with artists covering the bill. It's probably easier to excuse Springsteen or Macca running over than an artist who started 30min late...

    Arctic Monkeys

Really hard to imagine any of them headlining again!

    Arctic Monkeys

Another nail in the coffin of guitar bands as headliners? All eyes on GnR...
  14. If you happen to be hosting a Glastonbury party at home this year, add a touch of realism at bedtime... 😆
  15. Has it? Is Bicep a Jazzworld-type act?! Maybe my memory is failing, but it always felt like stages/tents had an identity. Didn't John Peel used to be for up and coming acts? Last year it included Charli XCX again (now five albums in) and Primal Scream See also: McFly on the Avalon Stage. Etc etc I've heard most stages/tents have their own booking agents now (?), which would explain the weird programming.
  16. This whole thing about naming stages/tents after areas... Means they no longer have themes. Which means 'names' are spread across the site. Which means many attendees are constantly on the move chasing the 'names', which adds to congestion and over-crowding. Imo, like.
  17. Played last year, as others may have mentioned in the thread. Still pretty rare to be invited to play two in a row. I mean, Confidence Man should be playing too, really - they're playing most other festivals in 2023 - but they did last year, and the one before Covid, I think. Gotta mix-up the line-up.
  18. I don't know who this guy is. After enduring 2min, I don't need to.
  19. I love Kraftwerk. Have seen them live four times, including at Bluedot. And imo they are NOT a festival act. They won't win over new fans in a field, and the retro visuals are a curiousity for fans, but outdated and crap for those who aren't.
  20. I was thinking about them the other day, in relation to Glastonbury and size of crowds. Remember them playing the Other Stage, lunchtime, one day in the early 2000s I think. I easily walked to the front...

    The 1975

    Oh yes. Produced by Antonoff...
  22. I refuse to think about this further. Was supposed to see TFF at Shepherd's Bush on Monday - their most-intimate UK for decades? - and I had to pull out due to sickness. *sob* Simple Minds are an odd one. Too big for a minor slot at Glastonbury, but not known enough by the kidz for a big one? Great musicianship these days, with none of the late-80s pomposity...
  23. Not even 1500 signatures after several days of publicity. But, yes, they should change it.
  24. They play some pretty big gigs these days. They'd command a decent slot.
