I know he's beloved around the fest, but Beans on Toast's politics are dated and (in my opinion) a bit cringeworthy. I used to be a fan, but hadn't listened to or seen him in a bit, and we ended up leaving his set at Shangri-La early last year.

At least one of his many sets in 2022 would have been better served going to someone else (preferably an up-and-comer).

Not sure his politics have changed much in the 10 plus years I've been listening to him. Not sure how that makes his political views dated, they are very much in line with loads of people at the festival. Not sure which of his viewpoints are cringe worthy? As for that set, I loved it and I think the last album was the best one he's released

I don't doubt that his politics haven't changed, I think probably it's mine that have become increasingly more 'radical' to the extent that he comes across as more frustrating than anything. The particular moment of cringe for me in that set was 'The War on War' (which I'm well aware isn't a new song, it had just been a while since I listened to it).

"Take the boom-box out of boom town and put it in the Gaza Strip and get my mate Mike to DJ it and drop some heavy shit
And maybe, just maybe, everyone will come and dance, pass a couple of pills around and they might even forget about the past"

Just winds me up the wrong way. Also his song about Laura Marling is gross.

If Ed Sheeran ever gets the nod to headline again, every single person with any musical taste should march upon Glastonbury, smash down the fence & occupy the Pyramid stage until the talentless glorified busker is escorted from the premises, never to return!

I used to feel like this. And then I moved to Suffolk! I now won’t countenance a word against him! He’s a saint around these parts.
I also listen to Florence and the Machine a lot more than I used to!

Leftfield is full of champagne socialist and is a bit shit

The John Peel stage hasn't been renamed Woodsies just so it matches the field name

They should take more risks when booking headline slots with more breaking artists rather than the usual boring "superstars"

Who do Glasto they think they are, Coachella? 🤣

Christ, it's like something Jeremy from Peep Show would say. Hugely insulting to the Palestinians as well for whom the Nakba is not "the past" but an ongoing injustice.

That whole genre of campfire/acoustic punky folk has dreadful politics. Per money spent on his education Frank Turner must be one of the stupidest people alive for example.

Homemade fancy dress is acceptable, but a £500 gorilla suit you bought because you do stat-arb at a half buck prop shop is not.

Genuine question. What is stat-arb at a half buck prop shop?

Statistical arbitrage at a proprietary trading hedge fund with less than 500k to play with.

If you are one of those people (it's usually a bloke) who punctuates the end of every tune with one of those deafening, ear piercing whistles, please stop and consider the ear drums of the people near you.

Utterly unaware uber knobend behaviour. The tinnitus inducing c**ts.

And also those pricks who scream and  shout out during a quiet interlude in a song.

I'm guessing it's something only c**ts in suits in the Square Mile will need to understand.

The Brothers Bar is the worst bar on site and stands out like a sore thumb in the WH field.

I don't visit bars, with the exception of Maceos and Guerilla, but the bold bit is true.

To be fair, it's just one of the counter bars, you can't actually go inside or anything. There's just something about the giant blue and yellow, makes it look cheap. It's completely superficial, but I'm not a fan.

Have to disagree on this one, I thought he was ok until he charged an extra £30-£40 on top of the Wembley prices to stand in chantry park, now I think he is a robbing C!
