eFestivals is fund-raising

eFestivals has been here 20 years supporting festivals and festival goers. Without your support it will not continue as it has been.
Advertising used to pay the bills but advertising revenues are much less than they were.

Festivals: if you'd like us to continue to promote your event to our 650,000 monthly readers you'll need to give a helping hand.
Festival-Goers: if every visitor in just one day donated just £2, that would provide funding for a whole year.

You can donate or sign up for 'gold' (ad-free) membership, or you can contact the editor.

  1. Labour have not taken an anti-Brexit stance because it would tank any opportunity for them to get into power. 52% of people voted for Brexit in 2016 and in 2019 the Brexit party leads every poll by ten percentage points. There is no political capital in opposing Brexit - you will end up as the Lib Dems or Change UK The Independant Group. No chance of power. The people who voted Brexit then and still support Brexit now aren't *all* right-wing no-hopers that would never vote for a left-wing government and so Labour needs to make the effort to reach out to them or face complete irrelevance The fact of the matter is that our difference in opinion here is about whether opposing Brexit has any inherent political value. As much as the Corbynysteria from the press would have you believe that Labour want to turn the UK into a Cold War communist state, the mild pre-Thatcher social democracy funded by higher taxes on the wealthy they want to introduce is something I put more value on than EU membership; and given the binary choice (for sake of argument) between a Labour government outside of the EU versus walking down the same path we've walked for the past 10 years in the EU with a Tory or Tory-lite government I'd stand by option one. Edit: Anyway, got to go. I have a zero-hours contract job to go to. 😁 I suspect we're broadly on the same side here so no hard feelings.
  2. I'd love to live in the world diehard remainers live in where the EU has apparently stopped or mitigated all the bad shit that's happened in our economy since 2008. I voted remain, would rather stay and I don't deny the capacity for things to get worse after Brexit but the status of our EU membership isn't the thing that is dictating whether people are in in-work poverty, or deporting the Windrush generation, or defunding the NHS, or implementing austerity, or facilitating the kind of policies that allowed Grenfell to happen or countless other cruel acts in which the blame lies squarely with the current government. And when people would rather attack Labour over the EU I personally think they're massively showing their arses as to what they really care about.
  3. If that's your way of looking at things I have bad news about a second Brexit referendum, lad.
  4. Imagine caring more about a neoliberal trading bloc than the opportunity to stop food banks being a thing.
  5. A genuine question for the Oxylers dissers: what's wrong with it and where do you lot normally camp? Out of interest. My first Glasto was 2017 and we staying in Oxylers and had basically zero problems and I plan on staying there again due to the location. But maybe that's my inexperience talking.
  6. I heard he's been keeping a low profile since Yewtree.

I don't know if you use Google sheets for work or anything but there shouldn't be a need to "save" in the traditional sense, it should automatically update for everyone whenever any change is made. In either case I can't see you from this end. Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Yes, it appears everyone who was successful yesterday and marked themselves green have been removed from the speadsheet.
  9. A Cooler Master, you say? Unorthodox.
  10. Check out Daft Punk's new single "Get Lucky" if you get the chance. Sound of the summer.
