Right, time to get back on this and start prepping for next year!

What's on the radar today then? Got Grian Chatten, Japanese House and bdrmm lined up so far

Couple of weeks ago but loving the new TEKE::TEKE album.

Do Nothing have a new one out today, imagine they're up your street if they're not already currently on your radar.

The Japanese House new one is really, really good. Going to get a lot of plays I think.

Enjoyed Nothing But Thieves too, but generally find their albums a real mixture  of hit and miss. But when they’re good, they’re great.

New single from The Last Dinner Party is a cracker too. Not instantly at the heights of Nothing Matters, but a very solid follow up. Can’t wait for the album (whenever that may be!!)

Missed it last week due to the obvious but just got round to Geese's sophomore this morning and it's a cracker. Feels much more refined than their debut which I already loved and the country tinge to it works really well. They seem like a band that will never sit in the same lane for more than an album so I'm already looking forward to whatever wacky combination they head for next

Local Natives is a nice chilled out listen. Really underrated band with some very good output over the years.

Oh, and Pigeon Detectives new one!! Got it on now and it’s not actually sounding too bad! Very much enjoying the nostalgia.

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
