Speakers Corner Quartet is fantastic, Geronimo Blues with Kae is a highlight, its going to be special on West Holts

New Foos largely sounds exactly like you’d expect it to and isn’t gonna win over anybody new, but it’s almost definitely the best thing they’ve released in over a decade, in no small part to there actually being some emotion in there rather than the bland emotionless stadium rock that they’ve been churning out for a while now. Some genuine, heartfelt tearjerker moments in there.

Some good releases today for me: Foos, The Aces, Lanterns on the Lake, Rival Sons, Bully. 

Think a fair few on here will enjoy Lanterns on the Lake if you’re not familiar with them .. really good stuff. And Bully’s album is really good - right up your street I would say @Quark!

New Squid is great. As is King Krule.

The jury’s still out on the new Janelle. There are bops there for sure, but a bunch of it feels kind of throwaway and even pandering to the TikTok generation a little, and the whole thing is just too damn short; when it finished I thought my Spotify had broken or something, but nope, it was over. Maybe the whole thing will grow on me with repeat listens.

Highlight of todays new releases I’ve heard so far is the new Jason Isbell - so good.

They were playing the Jason Isbell album in the record shop this morning when I went to buy Laura Cantrell - sounded great, I'll definitely be buying it next pay day.

The Laura Cantrell is predictably gorgeous - anyone going to see her on Acoustic Stage is in for a treat!
