ORod most likely not playing or yeah, she’d be getting the headliner gig. Not doing any festivals this year so most likely gonna headline Glastonbury along with a bunch of other festivals in the near future rather than do Glastonbury as another one off.

Fair.

I haven't been arsed looking at her dates, just going on her name being thrown about here.

SZA to headline then, with a lot of "WHO???" comments on social media, thinkpieces about women headliners/new headliners in the pipeline, and a very small Pyramid crowd on the night.

........unless it's KOL and then there's lots of moaning about Glastonbury not taking chances on headliners. Would pull a bigger crowd in the field than SZA though.

Am I right in thinking SZA would be the first Muslim headliner or am I forgetting someone?

I can't say for sure, or come up with a name - but I'd be slightly surprised if it didn't happen at some point in the 80s or early 90s - especially as they frequently had a "world music" headliner on the Sunday.

There is absolutely a large-ish demographic at Glastonbury that will enjoy the slow jams of SZA. It's just not well represented on this particular forum.

Exactly this. She'll draw a decent crowd & also the coverage of her headlining will help with bringing new, younger people to Glastonbury. Each year the average age of a Glastonbury goer seems to get older and that can't be good for the long term survival of the festival.

The National are one of my favourite bands, but I'll put it this way: I haven't bought tickets to any of their tour dates yet as I'm totally expecting to pick them up cheaply at the time as they largely won't sell out

You're telling me SZA's fanbase of predominantly young women don't post on an internet forum in the year 2024?

Glad I'm not the only bad fan out there! Have a Glastonbury ticket, but have had two annual hospital appointments come through for the Glastonbury Friday. If I can't change those, then the G ticket goes back and I'll be looking to do some of those UK National shows on cheap tix.

Reliable poster on the Glastonbury Discord.

Does the intel specifically say that she headlines or just that she appears?

There's also dozens of the undercard as good as confirmed too

Any that I may not be aware of?

If you count the Legends slot as a fourth headliner then Cat Stevens would be one.

SZA booking has restored my faith in the festival tbh. I got a bit worried with how uninspired the AM and GNR bookings were last year. I can understand why they booked GNR, don’t get me wrong, but I think when a slot comes available they should take more of a punt. Especially when they already had a mega headliner like Elton bagged.

If SZA headlines, it will be the first year since I first came in 1998 that someone has headlined who I have never even heard/ knew existed.

I'm officially old.

You know this has to happen at somepoint right? If you get older and move away from what’s current lineups will start becoming unfamiliar.

Not sure why there's so much animosity today. Maybe because it's Monday and people are antsy for an announcement?

I'm surprised at people on here of all places acting like there's no chance people on the Disc0rd/ elsewhere get info before official announcements. It's their choice to share with us, and it's your choice to believe or not. But if someone's been right last time about a good portion of the line-up (as they were) I'm going to believe them. If you think there's no way someone would know outside of guessing and everyone's full of rubbish - that's your opinion.

A thousand times this.
