Fuck it, let's go all in. No women whatsoever this year. Not on any stage, anywhere.

In fact, let's make it a men-only festival. Change the Pyramid to a giant phallus. Name changes: The (Br)other Stage, Shangri-Lad, Cock9, Man Remo, Unfairpayground...

That's some prime positioning for the Rodder, you gotta admit

His performance at the Brits a few years ago was dill danding level, so this could be an all timer. Security doing rock the boat to Sailing.

Rod may not be everyone's cup of tea but he would tick a lot of boxes for that slot.

Sharon AND Phyllis on the same day?

I think they've had a falling out though where Rod even refused to answer Elton's calls so not sure they'd be likely to appear on the same day. Ironically I believe it was over Elton announcing his retirement and Rod saying that wasn't very rock n' roll and now he's done the same thing.

Elton talks about his relationship with Rod in his book. Seems they fall out and make up all the time.

Yep it was in his book I read it but previous they all seemed quite jovial rows whereas he said he tried to phone Rod and he wouldn't answer. It could be now that Rod has apologised since of course but if not being on the same bill on the same day would seem unlikely.

How much say would they get on who else is playing though? They either suck it up and get on with it or they walk away and face the consequences.

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
