QOTSA, Bruce Springsteen, RATM pushing theirs back to July. I expect more and more to come.

I feel like my TWOD and Tool tickets in the next few months will be cancelled.

In a bad mood.

Well if its the case that more Americans choose to wait End of Road festival will be done by lunchtime Saturday.

Nobody wants to consider that Harry is actually the replacement for Billie if she did back out? Thats actually right in line with the theory that they might go mostly Uk artists for the lineup. Which would also point to Dua being on Saturday and keeps Macca in the picture, too.

I think there has been pages of people considering that...

Might be time to start making lists of acts who are touring, free that weekend and big enough to step into the big slots if needed...

You suspect there could be a few "how 'exclusive' is your agreement?" conversations too...

  • Harry Styles (Friday and Saturday)
  • Coldplay
  • Liam Gallagher (Saturday only)
  • Foo Fighters (Sunday only)
  • Adele
  • Elton John (Saturday only)
  • Florence and the Machine
  • Foals

Tribes as well. They’re self-confirmed.

I still don't get why The Strokes are totally out of the conversation honestly. Maybe because of money but they could easily do it.

I mean, if the festival was really in a bind then maybe, but there’s no way they’re gonna be high up on the call list these days, and there’s probably good reason why they’ve never played ($$$)

We’ve been here before so many times though. They’ve never remotely been in the frame to headline and there’s no reason to expect that to change. If the festival really wanted them that much it would have happened already.

They must be in a bind if they’re happy to have Macca dribbling his way through Yellow Submarine topping the bill.

Good job he’s on the Sunday if he’s playing so the Saturday BBC audience can watch Dua Lipa instead.

There's been many a chance over the years, when they've been touring an album and in Europe/UK over June/July and its never happened, I doubt they'd be brought in as a backup before the regulars.

Cause at this point its just a tired thing to even talk about. Every year is a Strokes year and its never happened. Once you stop hoping for it, thats when it might materialize.

I don't think they're likely but if they were offered a Pyramid headline slot, I think they'd take it regardless of the money. It's when people suggest they take the lower money for the lower slot where it's hard to see.

When looking at headliners that would satisfy any 'rock band/singer' quota, of the ones that are free and willing, it wouldn't raise too many eyebrows to see them given it.

Your decadent use of colour enrages me.

    • When it comes to legacy alternative acts I hope they bring the Afghan Whigs. Those newly released songs are incredible and classic Whigs sound
    • We’ve a friend  who has hens and sells eggs for two quid for six. So much tastier than supermarket ones. She has an honesty box outside her house and has now expanded into selling them to hotels and the local butchers shop. Quite a decent wee business
    • Curiously a rumour has turned up that Barcelona are now interested in Rodri. So could make Real Madrid and Man City are suddenly both in need of a central midfielder.    ... Assuming this move to Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes ends up being processed before those two may need to enter the conversation.
    • I think Thunderbolts probably had one of the more interesting villains for an MCU movie. I was actually a bit creeped out by Void. I'm a massive horror movie fan, and I can't think of another time in the last couple of years where a character legit scared me like he did.    Brand New Day was a good time. A great villain choice as it played into Parker's insecurities. Castle was a strange inclusion but the dynamic between him and Parker was great. Castle must have been delighted to have someone who never seen themselves as superior to him like Murdoch pretty much always did.
    • Certainly the fact Bruce had disasters at West Brom and Blackpool has hurt his chances. Maybe he'll go mentor his son now he's a manager at Rotherham.    Maybe the passive aggressive comment about Howe being "that fella who got Bournemouth relegated" also counts as it's own comment that aged very poorly.
